POETRY PRESENTATION

For your presentation: 1. Select one poem that is not listed in the syllabus. The poem need not be selected from the text. The poem should be one that you enjoy, even if some aspects are difficult to understand. 2. Find some information about the author of the poem, e.g. when and where she/he lived, interests, events in her/his life when writing that poem, etc. 3. Read the poem many, many times silently and aloud to understand the rhythms, language, phrasing, and intonations for oral reading. Read to an audience (even if it’s an audience of one). 4. Create a visual aid or prop for the presentation. The aid could be an object related to the poem, a costume, or a photo. Be creative! Use the prop while giving the presentation, and explain its relationship to the poem. The poem should be selected by __________________________________________________.
