Drawing on Tradition: Maria Sybilla Merian Meets Mixed Media - #09CBI451 Susan Rubin, Instructor [email protected] Note: This is a studio class. We will discuss new ideas, but a proficiency in basic techniques is assumed. Please use this list a guideline, and bring the materials that will allow you complete a plate. Materials Colored Pencils: All you have in the brand(s) of your preference Drawing Paper • Tracing paper • Inexpensive pad of white drawing paper for exercises and notes • Paper of your choice for finished work—we will discuss at first class Drawing pencils: 2H and HB Colorless Blender: Lyra Splender or Prismacolor Small container (film-canister size) with a tightly fitting lid Synthetic paintbrush (old is fine), size 4 or 6 Micron Pen size 005 Pencil Sharpener Erasers: One kneaded, one white plastic Poster Putty: Plasti-Tak or Handi-Tak are best Brush for removing pencil crumbs ***Once you decide on the media mix and the paper you’ll use, you may need to bring other materials from your collection to complete your piece Note: A $5 materials fee will be collected by the instructor at the first class Note: Kozo Fine Art Materials (10 E.
