TRADITIONS IN ROMANIA New Year



The Romanian customs are undoubtedly beautiful folkloric events, great entertainment. They include profound significance to man and his relations with nature, with the world around. Christmas open cycle of 12 days of New Year's holidays. Habit of wandering, in fact, going from house to house with different wishes. It manifests itself strongly in the New Year cycle.



New Year's Eve is accompanied everywhere by old customs and superstitions. Some do not take into account, others just pretend. The fact is that many of them are common to several people and they are just very long time, from the ancient Celts, the Romanian and the Korean and Chinese. To ensure that New Year will bring, however, comply with holiness Romanians but all traditions and superstition about New Year.

Superstitions 









Never sweep the New Year’s Eve, because driven prosperity. Need not give things out of the house, even garbage. If you have not done so yesterday, postponed until 1 or January 2. Otherwise you will have the empty house all year. Who does not want money? For this you must have money in your pocket at midnight. Until then, be paid and debts, otherwise a full year you will all give money! Not good or to give the loan, because all the poor will remain. If you wash clothes, you go wrong all year. Most superstitious say that we should not wash clothes until Epiphany, when the holy waters. Do not use scissors to cut the chance. For good luck, you must have new clothes, and especially anything red. A bright color attracts positive energies. Do not complain and do not argue, because it will be all year.



Integrates into goat play harmoniously in broad suite of customs related to holidays throughout the year. This animal has embodied in the ancient personification prolificitatii zoological societies and fertility goals. Capra, the mito-Zoomorphic character, known to all villages in Bucovina, subordinate their most times during the exhibition game, all the other characters. In some villages, playing this animal appear as several bands of goats (Ostrea) and in other animal is alone, accompanied only by shepherds.
