Wheelset installation

1. 2.

Install tires to front ① and rear ② rims. Carefully follow the instructions provided by your tire manufacturer. Lubricate the exterior freehub body ③ with oil or grease before mounting the cassette. Keep a generous amount of grease in the exposed end of the freehub body ③ to protect the drive side outboard bearing. The steel exterior freehub body ③ is compatible with all Shimano-type 8 or 9 speed cassettes, including SRAM, Sun Race, etc.

3.

Install disc brake rotor to front hub disc side ④ and rear hub disc side ⑤. Carefully follow brake manufacturer’s instruction for rotor attachment. Use only the screws provided with the rotor. Caution: Don't ride with inadequately tightened rotor screws. Follow manufacturer’s torque recommendations. Inadequately tightened rotor screws can result in hub thread failure and a potentially dangerous braking situation.

4.

Install the front ① and rear ② wheel to drop-outs of fork and frame. Insert the QR ⑥ to rear wheel from left side. The lever end of the QR requires substantial effort to close. If it closes with only moderate hand pressure, the QR must be readjusted by turning the nut opposite of the release lever clockwise. Orient the lever so that, when closed, it is pointing upward in order to avoid hitting it on passing objects when riding.Caution: Using too much leverage may cause damage to the QR, accident, injury or death. Note: Regularly check quick release adjustment. The QR must be periodically lubricated at pivot points so it can exert maximum sideways force.

5.

For installation of QR15 equipped front wheel, follow the fork manufacturers instructions for proper installation.

6.

Use spoke tension measuring device to follow tension specification: Front disc side: 72kgf-122kgf, Front non-disc side: 42kgf-72kgf, Rear drive side: 72kgf-122kgf, Rear non-drive side: 30kgf-56kgf. Maximum spoke tension must not exceed 122 kgf. Using tension above 122 kgf will void warranty. If tension above 122 kgf is necessary to true the wheel, the rim may be damaged and should be replaced. Caution: Rim failures can cause serious accidents. Use recommended spoke tensions.
