CHAPTERS, MEMBERS and PARTNERS First Year

CORE GROUP @62 @62 is a group of young professionals and student leaders/ volunteers who advocate voter’s education through the development and compilation of candidate information during national elections. This is distributed in schools nationwide.

Akbayan Youth (A!Y) A national organization of youth and students, works for the realization of good governance and transformative politics. Through critical, vigilant, dynamic and solution-oriented brand of progressive activism, Akbayan Youth aims to contribute in catalyzing social change. Akbayan Youth adheres to the socialist principles: democracy, humanism, equity and internationalism. It is the youth wing of Akbayan Citizens' Action Party. Ayala Young Leaders Alliance (AYLA) The official alumni network of the Ayala Young Leaders Congress. AYLA today has 728 members, with 17 local and 5 ad-hoc chapters in key cities of the country, working together on various development and community-based initiatives. The AYLC, now on its 11th year, is an annual student leadership congress supported by Ayala Corporation and its Group of Companies as an expression of their commitment to nation-building through youth leadership.

Catalysts for Peace Catalysts for Peace is the volunteer youth arm of the Asia America Initiative (AAI), a non-profit charitable and educational organization dedicated to promoting humanitarian ideals, providing direct assistance to impoverished communities plagued by violence and mediating in conflict areas throughout the Asia-Pacific region especially in Mindanao.

Confederation of Student Governments of the Philippines (CSGP) The Confederation of Student Government of the Philippines formerly National Council of Student Government of the Philippines (NCSGP) in a continuous pursuit for student empowerment and development, has already traversed a challenging yet very fruitful year from the time it was conceived. CSGP was born out of the unification of ideals, dreams and aspirations of the young minds and hearts of the society – the contemporary youth leaders, on the occasion of the very first National Congress of Student Governments and Campus Journalist of the Philippines held on December 8- 10, 2006 at the Venus Parkview Hotel, Kisad Road, Baguio City.

First-Time Voters Project (FTV) The First-Time Voters Project is a network of organizations and individuals that advocates meaningful participation of young citizens aged 15-21 years. It pushes for electoral and political reforms necessary for the democratization and social inclusion of the youth. It is a continuing process of developing a new generation of voters who exercise their right to suffrage and maximize such potent tools in determining the fate of the country and their future.

Metropolitan Teen Theater League (PETA Youth) The youth arm of PETA, it has recently joined the alliance of Youth Vote Philippines to produce and stage a play that dramatizes voter registration and voter’s education. This will be presented to students and young professionals to advocate voter’s registration and intelligent decision making among the youth for the national elections.

National Union of Students in the Philippines (NUSP) The National Union of Students of the Philippines is a nation-wide alliance of student councils/governments/unions committed to the advancement of the students' democratic rights and welfare. Since its establishment in 1957, the NUSP has been consistently at the forefront of the students' struggle for their rights and welfare and in solidarity with the Filipino people's struggle for genuine freedom and democracy. As such, the NUSP has earned the recognition of being the legitimate student center here and abroad. The National Union is a patriotic, democratic, progressive alliance of student leaders that upholds and defends the rights and welfare of the Filipino students. It seeks to unite all students in the country through their mandated representative student councils, governments and unions in the struggle for the fundamental right to education, and lead them in their struggle for a nationalist, scientific and mass oriented education system, to fight for an education for genuine national development and free from any imperialist control.

National Youth Parliament (NYP) National Youth Parliament is a youth organization initially convened by the National Youth Commission once every two years to draft, discuss, lobby and mobilize for resolutions on the youth agenda. The Parliament is a venue to participate in the national decision-making processes of the government. The proceedings, declarations and resolutions of the Parliament guide NYC in its undertakings and its Medium Term Youth Development Program (MTYDP).

Student Council Alliance of the Philippines In every beginning lies an opportunity for change. This has been the guiding light of more than a hundred student council leaders from major universities and colleges nationwide when they convened to forge greater solidarity and unity in 1996. SCAP is actively involved in local, sectoral and national campaigns, with a focused leadership capable of responding to new challenges and opportunities.

Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) The Search for Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations was initiated in 2002 in view of the lack of awards that acknowledged the contribution and the efforts of youth groups and organizations. TAYO has emerged to be the country’s foremost award for youth organizations. It is given annually to ten outstanding Filipino youth clubs that have undertaken a recent project or program that has benefited a local community to which they belong.

WhyNot? Forum The WhyNot? Forum is inspired by TEDTalks, where leading thinkers and doers around the globe share their thoughts, ideas, dreams, and experiences, which are then posted on the web for free for the entire world to see. It’s a smorgasbord of great, brave ideas, an open-source innovation soup that will hopefully inspire other Filipinos to connect adjunct thoughts, take impactful action, and weave together new breakthrough ideas – redefining and challenging the inertia of the status quo, all for positive change.

Young Public Servants (YPS) Young Public Servants is a group of young, dynamic individuals focused on promoting Good Governance and Democratic Citizenship among the youth. It believes that these elements are critical in developing a new, focused and dedicated generation of leaders. YPS works to establish the foundations of governance and citizenship through a wide range of activities involving nation-building and civic participation.

Youth Alliance Philippines (YAP) A network of young professionals, student volunteers, youth community workers, and youth-serving organizations that focuses on strengthening the youth sector as a driving force in nation-building. YAP implements various initiatives that respond to the needs of the youth; enhance their interest in social involvement; and promote a national identity that each young Filipino would be proud to live up to.

Youth for Sustainable Development Assembly-Pilipinas (YSDA) YSDA a national network of organizations showing the demonstrated capacity of youth in local sustainable development. It was originally formed in 1997 under the name National Youth Council for Philippine Agenda 21 to act as a consultative body for the creation of Philippine Agenda 21.
