Director of Youth Ministries Job Description Connect well with teens, their parents, volunteer staff, paid staff, and fit well into the existing Pastoral staff. Provide oversight of all aspects of the 200+ member youth ministry grades 6-12: Sunday School, Small Groups, Missions Trips, Retreats, Outreach, Discipleship, and Activities. Fulfill the vision of Forcey Church on a teen level. Recruit, train, evaluate, encourage, and support volunteer and paid staff. Provide counseling to teens and their parents. Chair the Mission Possible Committee. Connect and cooperate with the Singles Pastor to ensure graduating seniors stay connected.

Primary Responsibilities A.Sunday School (6th12th grades) 1. Recruit and train teachers 2. Select and order curriculum 3. Encourage and support staff 4. Determine needs and provide for them 5.Troubleshoot and be involved in conflict resolution on ministry’s behalf 6. Evaluate effectiveness 7. Oversee opener 8. Oversee follow-up of visitors

B.Middle School Ministry (6th-8th grades) 1. Oversee Sunday Night Bible Study a. Recruit and train volunteers b. Select and order curriculum c. Encourage and support staff d. Determine needs and provide for them e.Troubleshoot/ resolve conflict on ministry’s behalf f. Evaluate effectiveness g. Oversee followup of visitors 1. Oversee Activities a. Select and plan at least one activity per month b. Recruit volunteers to staff activities c. Recruit transportation

C.High School

Ministry (9th-12th grades) 1. Oversee Small Group ministry a. Recruit and train Small Group leaders b. Select and order curriculum c. Encourage, support, and hold Small Group leaders accountable d. Determine needs and provide for them e.Troubleshoot/ resolve conflict on ministry’s behalf f. Evaluate effectiveness 1. Oversee Activities a.Select and plan one large and one small activity per month b. Recruit volunteers to staff activities c. Recruit transportation d. Follow up visitors

Overall Responsibilities A.Retreats 1. Oversee specific purpose & direction of each retreat 2. Recruit volunteers to staff retreats 3. Oversee the planning & implementing of all retreats A.Volunteer Staff 1. Recruit and train volunteer staff

2. Encourage, support, and hold staff accountable 3. Determine needs and provide for them 4.Troubleshoot/ resolve conflict on ministry’s behalf 5. Evaluate effectiveness 6.Ensure staff is being spiritually fed, trained and affirmed A.Fall Festival 1. Organize and delegate solicitation of businesses 2.Organize donations  supplement with purchased prizes 3. Organize work days and workers 4. Organize volunteers for night of event 5. Organize party after event for teen workers of event A.Outreaches 1.Organize/ plan events 2. Recruit and train volunteers 3. Secure location, speaker, music, etc. 4. Secure transportation 5. Plan and implement followup

A.Mission Trips 1. Organize/ plan trips 2. Recruit team members and leaders 3. Train team members and leaders

4. Secure transportation, housing, and food 5. Orchestrate fundraising

A.Mission Possible 1.Chair Mission Possible Committee 2. Oversee the lining up of all three phases’ trips 3. Oversee the recruiting, interviewing, training of team members 4.Oversee the recruiting, interviewing, & training of team leaders 5. Oversee all transportation, room and board, visas, etc. 6. Oversee all fundraising, record keeping, and reporting 7. Visit teams as possible each year 8. Be available to lead a team when leaders are scarce A.Counseling 1. Be available for counseling teens 2. Be available for counseling parents A.Resource Provider 1. For teens, parents, and volunteers 2. Books and Media 3. Training opportunities

A.Oversee Admin Assistant 1. Direct, encourage, support admin assistant
