Lay the brown paper on the floor
Prepare the chalk to draw around the person
Lie the child down on the paper with their arms and legs outstretched and with chalk trace around their body keeping the outline loose and sketching around their hands as if they had mittens on
Loosely sketch around the body
Cut loosely around the sketch
Cut out the pattern Fold the bed sheet in half lengthwise Prepare the straight pins
Pin the pattern of the body to the bed sheet
With a colored pencil or colored chalk trace around the paper leaving a 2-inch (5.1 centimeters) margin near the head and body and a 1-inch margin (2.5 centimeters) for the legs, arms and feet, on the bed sheet.
Cut the linen and leave it lying on the floor, ready for glueing
Using fabric scissors or good scissors, cut through the doubled sheet one inch outside the chalk Leave it on the floor in place
with fabric glue, and a paint brush glue the edges of the body together leaving the head open for the stuffing Turn the figure inside out and begin stuffing it starting with the legs.
When you have filled the doll with the polyfill, glue the head shut
Cut strips of wool for the hair, you can roll it if you want for curly hair, paint the glue on the dolls head, then lay the strips of wool on the glue Create your face with buttons, or googly eyes, etc get creative you can use a little blush on for cheek color.
Dress the doll. An option is to paint the eyes/mouth/nose on the doll using acrylic paint
You can create a paper stencil of the mouth, eyes etc. and place it on felt and cut out a pattern
