1. Who is a Filipino? A heart who truly understands our nation as we being the one whole people of the one whole social democracy represented by our one whole Philippine Republic. Most Filipino have a lot of pride. They are the ones that have screen names like pinoy this or pinay that. Let me explain what a pinoy is, it is a Filipino boy and a pinay is a Filipino girl. Filipino's be representing especially with the little flags in their car window like me. The type of cars that you would usually see those flags are in those little rice rockets called Hondas. Most of the younger generation that show the most pride don't really know their own culture. The younger generations of Filipinos seem to have all this pride in being Filipino which you should be proud to be but lose their culture. Most young Filipinos don't even know how to speak the language or can’t even understand the language. If you ask me to talk in Filipino I wouldn't be able too. I bet if you ask a majority of Filipino teenager if they could speak Filipino they wouldn't be able to. The reason I believe why Filipino teenagers can't speak is because English and Tagalog (Filipino dialect) are the two main languages in the Philippines and when they immigrate here the main language is English so most parents would just speak to their children in English. So I guess partly that it isn't our fault being emersed in American culture and not knowing how to speak contribute to the loss of our culture.

2. Are you a Filipino? Why? Yes I’m a Filipino, because I am proud of my color, my tradition, my education, my religious beliefs, and my upbringing. I might have some misfortunes along the way, but my being alive and happy outweighs them all. Filipinos are hardworking and smart. You can find Filipinos in almost all countries of the world, working and sacrificing for the sake of their families and country’s future. Above all, Filipinos are one in spirit, thanking God for the all blessings they receive. The positive outlook, love for elders, persevering character, and recognizing God in the center of our lives make me say I am proud to be a Filipino.

3. What does being a Filipino mean? It means being a part of a family and supporting one another. You can see it whenever Filipinos are around. It doesn't matter if we are blood related or not-we are always there for one another. Recently, at a Filipino event, where I was surrounded by family and friends, I saw what it meant to be Filipino in a whole new light. We always have each other's backs. We supported one another at the event, even when one of us messed up a game or forgot a dance move. We all just told each other that it was OK or to shake it off. We even did this to people we didn't even really know. Being Filipino means being a part of a wonderful culture. A culture filled with amazing foods, beautiful languages and having a great homeland to go to. When I tell you the food is amazing, it is so good. Seriously, once you taste it, you will fall in love with it.

4. What are the Filipino traits and characteristics? The Filipino traits and characteristics are Honest, Respectful, Calm and Collected, Resourceful, Hard-working, Passionate, Jack of all Trades, Cheerful, Active, Focused
