Welcome to our third pupil council newsletter. Our job is to help to improve our school to the best of our ability. The pupil council members meet every second Friday at around 2:30 pm to discuss any problems, if any and what’s going on in and around our school. We also meet with all the other schools in Grangemouth for our Cluster meetings. The schools that come along are Beancross, Bowhouse and Sacred Heart. We have had a new school join our cluster this session which is Oxgang. We are happy to see them join our cluster. At the end of the year a few pupil council members go along to the pupil council cluster conference. Our group is made up of children from primary 5, primary 6 and primary 7. Nominations take place in June so we are able to start the year quickly. At the end of the summer term we elected a new chairperson, vice chair and secretary. Here are our members. Chairperson Emily Millar P7 Vice chair Naomi Calder P7 Secretary Sarah Wilson P7 Heidi Elfendi P7 Gemma Wallace P7 Corey Baker P7 Lewis Binnie P7 Megan Farrell P7 Aidan Thomson P7 Louise Tilley P6 Kelsey Campbell P6 Hayley Bryce P6 Ailsa Steedman P6 Sean Harrington P6 Liam Wallace P6 Louis Comrie P6 Matthew Smith P5

What have we been up to? In September Ailsa and Emily went to a team building event at Muiravonside. We did lots of different activities including mine field maze (which was run by Mr Connochie, it was fab! ) building a birds nest, orienteering and the classroom activity. When we went there we met lots of children from other schools. It was a great day out and it did not rain! On the 8th of October Emily and Louise went to the Cenotaph wreath laying ceremony. At the service there were representitives from all of the Grangemouth primary schools and also the High school. Mrs Wright met us there and kept us right. Once we had laid the wreath on behalf of Moray Primary School we went back to Mrs Wright and watched the rest of the ceremony. On The Open Evening we met, helped and pointed parents/carers to the classrooms. Our members were placed in various places around the school to make sure that no-one got lost. This was a great success like it has always been. Whats next? We are sending Louis C, Heidi, Aidan and Emily to the next cluster meeting. This meeting will be held at Beancross primary school on the 27th of November. More details to follow. The Cycling Proficiency is looking good this year. It is run by Miss Multani and Mr Connochie who have the tricky job of training a group of Primary 7’s how to ride their bikes safely to and from school. They have both done a great job. Kate Wallace will be along soon to give us our test. More to come about how we get on with the test. I hope you have enjoyed our newsletter. If there is anything you would like us to take up on your behalf please speak to one of the pupil council representitives. Look out for our next newsletter in the new year. Bye from Emily Millar (chairperson) and the Pupil Council
