DAILY SCHEME OF WORK FOR THE YEAR 2009 (RANCANGAN KERJA HARIAN UNTUK TAHUN 2009) FROM : 30TH MARCH – 4TH APRIL (WEEK 13) SUBJECTS/TIME MATHEMATICS
TOPICS/CONTENTS OBTUSE ANGLE
5B (8.00 – 9.00 am)
OBJECTIVES At the end of the lesson pupils will be able to;
a) recognise that the angle in a circle is 360° b) Manipulate simple drawing using a photo editing software.
REMARKS 5B
MONDAY : 30TH MARCH 2009 PRESENTATIONS 1. Introduction; (15 min) Teacher recalls back previous lesson, by asking pupils what they have learnt throughout the topics this particular topic. Example:i) What is the angle on a straight line? ii) What is the angle at a point? etc. 2. Lesson Activities; (40 min) Individual activity:Teacher will move on a new sub-topic which is how to measure obtuse angle. Pupils will soon learn that there are 2 ways to measure obtuse angle. - Teacher will show the 2 different ways to measure: 1. measure the smaller angle and subtract it from 360° 2. Draw a straight line on one of the line, then measure the smaller angle, add it with 180° which is the angle on a straight line. - Based on the 2 ways teacher have shown, they will observe that the first way is easier to understand. - The alternative way is just to show the pupils that there are different ways too. - Teacher will ask the pupils to measure some given angles using onscreen protractor. 3. Conclusion (5 min): Teacher summarises the lesson.
ASSIGNMENT Practical Work: -Pupils will measure obtuse angle using on-screen protractor Extra: draw the angle given by the teacher.
