Volunteer Opportunities We realize you are busy with your jobs, lives, and families. If time permits, we would love your help in the classroom. Please take a few minutes to look over the following list to see if you can help. Please be aware that all in-class volunteer positions REQUIRE a current TB test be submitted to the District. We have discount coupons in the office to help defray the cost. Marin Headlands Science School Chaperon – spend a week with us at Science School! More information at the Science School Information Night in September. Recycling Volunteer – assist with Friday lunch-time collection and sort of glass/bottle/can recyclables. Take bags of recyclables to recycling center for redemption. Photocopying/Laminating – Make photocopies of handouts/worksheets required for class. 1-2x/week. Occasional trip to TRC for laminating, if needed. Gator Folder Preparation - Get Thursday folders ready for distribution, Thursdays at lunch or earlier in the day. Spectra Art Assistant – assist with set-up/clean-up and progress of biweekly art class – Every other Thursday morning 8:00 – 11:50am. Science Class Aide – one or more classes per week, usually 12:35-2:35pm, (12:35-1:30pm on Tuesdays). Co-Room Representatives – coordinate holiday parties and help staff special class activities (i.e. Native American Arts & Craft Day, Winter Holiday Craft Afternoon, Colonial Day) Project Cornerstone – Assist Ms. Jefferson and other ABC parents with monthly presentations. Handle Book Club Orders – input paper orders on-line and tally checks for submission - once every other month. San Jose Sharks “Reading is Cool” coordinator – tally student record sheets once per month Correcting tests – weekly or occasionally (can be done at home) Field Trip Chaperons - sign up with permission slips for field trips Traffic Duty – direct traffic during morning arrival (7:45-8:05am), and early Tuesday dismissal (1:20-1:40pm). Specific day/ time sign-ups will be available at Back-to-School night. Our four weeks are: Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4 Special Projects – Help with special activities or prep materials at home Other - Anything we haven’t thought of yet?
