Or Peer Listening - You and your friends could set up a peer listening scheme in your school, it would involve one days training which would be delivered by Off the Record (Counselling and Informal Support Service for Young People).

One to one listening lunchtime drop-in sessions for younger students, set in an allocated space and managed on a rota system by trained 6th form students Ongoing one to one work, provided as above (number of sessions to be decided in advance) An appointment system provided by a trained receptionist service, also managed by 6th form students, Supervision of students involved in service provision also provided for every session by trained members of staff on a rota basis Group supervision, fortnightly as an opportunity for further de-briefing and to identify further training needs or developmental work

To contact local schools & youth groups to offer & arrange talks about pet care. To give free talks to groups of children mainly under the age of 12 years old in pre-schools, primary schools & youth groups. Lawrence Weston Community Farm
Volunteers get involved with the running of the farm and gardening opportunities which includes helping in the farms expanding nursery project. Opportunities are also available to help on special events days, running stalls, fundraising events, helping with administration work, working with farm tots, running coffee mornings, bee keeping, computer work and one off projects through the year. We also run accredited courses in Animal Care, Horticulture and Bee keeping. We also encourage anyone interested in the volunteer committee and or the farm committee to get in touch.
