Welcome to the first issue of the official newsletter of the Ladies' Section of the Islamic Education Foundation. We are pleased to launch this newsletter as a way of keeping our guests, members and students informed with our monthly activities. We hope to share various information and explanations of verses from the Holy Qur’aan, book reviews, special and ongoing activities at our center and special trips. Due to the summer vacation and holiday plans of most of our students and staff members, please note that our next edition will be published in Ramadan, Insha Allah. Living the Qur’aan Educational classes to understand the revealed verses from Allah, and applying them in our daily lives.
Comparative Classes A study of the history and the development of other monotheistic beliefs (Judaism and Christianity), and their relation to the final monotheistic belief (Islam).
Other Classes Offered Tajweed (recitation of Qur’aan as revealed to the Prophet)
Tafseer (Explanation of the verses of the Qur’aan), Aqeedah (Authentic Islamic faith), Fiqh (applied Islamic principles) Arabic Classes in different languages in various topics can be offered with a minimum enrolment of 5 students. LIBRARY Our library has an extensive collection of books related to Islam and education, available to borrow or to purchase. Books are available in English, Bengali, French, Indonesian, Malayan, Sinhalese, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, and many more. Access to our library is offered to members and guests during operating hours. Please contact the front desk for more information.
Highlights of 7th June Grand Event

SPECIAL CORNER – Food of the Prophet
The Prophet taught us how to live a healthy lifestyle and the curative properties of certain foods and herbs.
Black Seed The Prophet said, “Use this black seed, as it cures every disease, except death.” (Bukhari, Muslim) Black seed has been known to reduce your risk to illness and disease by strengthening your immune system and protecting your body’s most important organs.

The Prophet used to soak seven dates in milk before eating them. He is reported to have said, “Whoever begins his day with seven ripe dates (ajwah dates) will not be harmed that day by either poison or sorcery.”
In the Holy Qur’aan, Allah said, "... There emerges from their bellies a drink, varying in colors, in which there is healing for people. Indeed in that is a sign for people who give thought.” (The Holy Qur’aan: Surah 16, verse 69)
Dates used medicinally for certain intestinal ailments. It is also used to treat sore throats, colds, fever and other ailments.
Honey can be used to treat arthritis, hair loss, bladder infections, tooth aches, cholesterol, colds, infertility, upset stomachs, heart disease, indigestion, and many more.
