OVERVIEW

Redeem the Girl child from exploitation

Vandemataram foundation is a registered Community development organization working for child rights through the schools for a better India. It was on the eve of the Centenary year (2005) of the Vandemataram Movement that the Foundation was launched. Vandemataram Foundation has been at the forefront of Child rights and School Empowerment with grass root level interactions and right to Information campaigns. India Vision 2020! With literacy rate of 61% national average and ranked at the bottom of Human Development Index, does it sound possible at least near to possibility? Empower them with Education "A developed India by 2020 is possible only through people's participation and children are the nucleus of this transformation" - Sri A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, doesn't it seem hopefully better? This is what has motivated the Foundation to fight for the child rights and contribute its mite in the India 2020 vision of Sri A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. With a total of 600 volunteers toiling day in and day out selfless the mission seems to be in the range of sight. But we know we have a long way to go. That is why we appeal to all of you to join us … The foundation with the inspiration of Sri Abdul Kalam former President of India (July 2002 -July 2007) is working for the betterment of children and their education. A new freedom strug- They look for a hand that leads them gle this time against the poverty and illiteracy is influencing 120 from darkness to light schools in interior 10 mandals of Warangal and 7 mandals of Mahabubnagar District. The dropout rate has fallen steep down and the attendance of teachers climbing up, the performance of school as a unit is spreading smiles.

BACKGROUND A School is a place where each one of us have learnt to live and graduated in to the world to become what we are today and what we become tomorrow. The simple word "My school" sends most of us, rather all of us tumbling down the memory lane with loads of nostalgic images and childhood playfulness. Over 79% of the out-of-school children belong to the rural areas, SC/ST children account for nearly 11.5 % of the total out-of-school children. The most common cause for remaining out of school was due to household work, taking care of siblings and working to improve the family income. The drop-out rates in Mahabubnagar, Medak, Warangal, Nizamabad (above 50%) and Nalgonda (above 40%) are very high and needs urgent attention. The Dropout rate wavers from 19 % to 36% depending up on the class and poverty level of the child's family. (Source: Andhra Pradesh State Report Sarva Siksha Abhiyan)

The general level of infrastructure in the Govt. run schools can be improved with social participation. Parents and social interaction will be helpful to teachers. Study material We have studied the cause of backwardness and less result of Govt. Schools and collected the words and voices of thousands of students. Lack of resources. Shortage of teaching faculty and scarcity of good study material are major problems faced by the children which led them to score poor marks in public exams. Though they are capable, intelligent and enthusiastic they are unable to compete against corporate schools due to above problems. And because of this they are loosing opportunities of higher studies in prestigious institutions. Since last two years VMF designed "All in one" study material with complete information regarding all the six subjects. We have done this job with our own economy and with the co-operation of well experienced faculty, who worked for six months. We have distributed these materials of 915 pages to 9000 students in 150 schools, spending. Hence We appeal to the donors to come forward to support the poor students. With your kind support the children can score better and they can get the opportunities in corporate colleges and free education in their intermediate.

Vandemataram Foundation Empowering School Children

Patriotic movement namo mahatma

The true spirit of Indian Indepence moment can’t be observed much in present day generation. Though all the educational institutions are organising functions on national days, the question how far the children are aware of national moment, and the question how many of them have patriotism... are still un-answerable. Vandemataram Foundation took the responsibility of making the children aware of our great moment for Independence. Many activities are being organised at various Government. Schools. Not limiting to the independence and republic days, many other events like Birthdays of our leaders etc., are also oberved in schools by the foundation.
