Veronica Lee Folkedahl Extra Credit Journal I attended the Friday noon-panel at the 2019 Writer’s Conference titled “Visions of the Future”. I haven’t been to the writer’s conference before, so I don’t know attendance trends but this event seemed pretty reasonably attended. There were 4 authors taking part in the panel from the Conference (Sally Wen Mao, Heid E. Erdrich, Patrick Martinez and Kiese Laymon), and it was moderated by Eric Wolfe (Chair/Associate Professor of English). I thought this event was really interesting actually! I had never been to an event like this before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect at all. The questions posed by Wolfe were centered on themes of time (past/present/future), and the questions from the audience included the same topics, and also questions about the role/responsibility of artists in a political climate.
