Visiting Advitya (a creative centre for the specially gifted) seemed like challenge initially. I was not sure if I could interact with them without facing difficulties in understanding their emotions. It definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and ensured that I developed sensitivity and thoughtfulness towards the differently-abled. I found a more compassionate side to myself as I, along with my peers, spent time with them. We, that time, fully understood that they too were people with real emotions and that we should encourage them to be who they are. According to me, they were special. They were people with a heart. Perhaps, I should start becoming more like them. I should start accepting my insecurities and make them my strengths. I should collaborate more often with my colleagues and visit such centers so that I become more open-minded towards all kinds of people.

Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth: I was surprised to find a more compassionate side to myself as I, along with my peers, spent time with them. I could sympathize with everything they went through. I realized my strength was my ability to understand and be sensitive. Perhaps, I should start becoming more like them. I should start accepting my insecurities and make them my strengths. I should start accepting my flaws like they do for theirs. Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process: Interacting with the differently-abled seemed like challenge initially. I was not sure if I could interact with them without facing difficulties in understanding their emotions. It definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone and ensured that I developed sensitivity and thoughtfulness towards the differently-abled. I was able to communicate and hone my social skills. Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively: Teamwork is essential in whatever you do, especially when interacting with so many specially-abled people. Doing such a task single-handedly is impossible hence collaborating with my friends was a huge help. Some of us were extremely compassionate, some were good at communicating, and some, very understanding. Collaboration enabled us to use our individual skills for everyone’s benefit. Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions:
