Vastu For House

If the plan for house or any commercial building is made by an architect in consultation with vastu-specialist, the maximum number of positive points can be incorporated. While buying a flat one must see that the maximum number of positive points is available. Which room should be constructed in which direction, if this consideration is not kept in mind while planning a house, the whole building may go against the principles of and it will create a lot of trouble causing harms and loss to the owner /inmates. People are generally ignoring this fact and are constructing house according to the choice. Architects now a day prepare house-plans without considering the principles and rules given by ancient Vaastu-Shastra. They keep in mind the latest design, imitating the designs based on foreign culture but if the basic principles of Vastu satisfying the five basic materials (Panch Mahabhutas) are ignored, the house becomes the root cause or troubles, losses and sorrows in the life of the inmates. Main Entrance The main entrance is called Simhadwar. The main entrance has the same importance in a house as a nose on the face. Just as each nostril inhales air and purifies blood similarly energy, enters through the main entrance and therefore it should be properly located. The best location in North-East, East, North, West of North-West and South of South-East. Thus a door from North to East is beneficial from all aspects and this can be easily understood by a common man. But to locate it exactly at West of North-West or South of South-East may not be so easy and needs expert’s advice.

Drawing Room / Living Room

A common room should be provided in the space between East and North-East which can be used for entertaining the visitors and guests, or as a place where all the members of the family can sit together It can also be used as a bed room for unmarried children. It can be use as a store room for common articles.

Kitchen

According to medical science, the health of the body is determined by the health of the Liver. The kitchen represents nourishment and prosperity; after all its human nature to associate food and nutrition with nurturing and sustenance. South-East corner is the place of God of Fire (Agni Dev)

Burner (gas burner, stove, Chula etc) should be kept in the South-East corner of the kitchen platform, such that while cooking the person may face towards the East. Water arrangement should be made in the North-East corner. Shelves for keeping raw commodities, utensils etc. should be kept on the South or West side.

Bedroom

Your Bedroom is a true reflection of yourself. It should provide the ultimate comfort and support and be an invitingly special place. Your bedroom is where you begin and end each day, so its important to make it intimate and personal, but also keep it simple and uncluttered. Of all the rooms in the house, the bedroom is the most lived in. it is here that rest and recuperation take place. We spend nearly one third of the day in the bedroom. The master bedroom should be in the South-west corner of thehouse as laid down in vastushastra. The South-west direction is the inert element of the earth. It means stability and immobility. Science teaches us that heavier the substance, greater will be the force (moment of inertia) required to move it. Similarly greater the inertness, greater will be the stability. Because of the South-west location of the bedroom, the head of the family will have peace and stability, confidence and ability to dominate. Such a bedroom leads to healthy body and strong mind.

BATHROOM

Toilet

Prayer room

Ten most important elements are taken into consideration while planning a house and one of the most vital is the Prayer Room which has been given more importance. The correct place for the Prayer Room is the North-East so that while praying one faces North-East. But if this is not possible then any location between North and East will do.

Brahmatatva One ninth or 11.2% of the total area of a house is called brahmatatva or the core centre of the vastu. Just as the navel has an important role in our body, the core centre of a house is also important. The core centre should be open and not cluttered with any beam, column or heavy item. Pressure on the navel upsets the body functions and similarly pressure on the core centre brings about lack of co-ordination and disharmony in the life of the inmatesvastu Pulse & Vibrations A pleasant atmosphere is created automatically when a vastu is built according to established principles. A pleasant atmosphere keeps a person happy and free from physical and mental ailments. Productivity and creativity increased leading to good performance. Because of good atmosphere the three elements in a human body Satva-aj-Tam are in harmony and keep him away from the surrounding adverse effects. Pride is not allowed to manifest itself. Cuts Basically the shape of a vastu should be square or rectangular. But these days to improve the front elevation of the

building a number of design features are incorporated. This leads to an interruption in the square or rectangular shape where some portion is removed. They are called as “Cuts” in architectural science. This causes an interruption of the energy waves and results in defects. A cut in any direction of a vastu is not proper and leads to defects. Cuts in various directions cause different defects, bad incidents and happenings.
