In recognitions of the developments in digital media within the classroom the Visual Arts and Design Educators’ Association has arrange a number of workshops to assist teachers in their classroom delivery. The digital media workshops will present a range of approaches to consider in the use of digital technology and programs that will support teachers in extending their use of ICT in the Visual Arts classroom. The workshops presenters have been selected on the basis of their extensive experience in the delivery of technology within the classroom. The size of the workshop class is limited to 10 attendees to ensure an optimal educational experience. Resources such as programs, sample CD and specific work samples produced on the day will be given to attendees. The workshops are design to provide ‘hands on’ experience and a supportive environment that identifies the needs of teachers. Presenters will assist in the guiding teachers to develop effective strategies and projects in digital media. All digital media workshops are designed for teachers at a fundamental level on completion of this workshop extension courses will be offered.

21 March 2009 9:30am – 3:30pm Course Price (incl GST) Members $100 Non-Member $150 Courses on offer in the Digital Media Workshop are: Illustrator and Vector Art – Rebecca Webb This workshop seeks to develop an understanding of vector artworks through the use of Adobe Illustrator guide teachers in methods of producing their own vector graphics. This workshop seeks to assist in learning about the effectiveness of this program in its application within the classroom.

Stop Motion Animation – Ben Finch The world of animation is unlocked in this engaging and fun workshop. This class will produce their own Claymation as well as work on other animation techniques that can be used I the classroom. The operating program will be i-stop motion but skills can be employed in motion animation programs. Attendees will burn a DVD of their projects. Photoshop and Digital Photography – Nadine Goss This workshop concentrates upon getting you to know the Photoshop interface and develop a range of activities that harness the creative power of this program. Videography and Super-short films – Craig Malyon This workshop will provide an introductions of video production and its effective use I the classroom. From the ‘shoot’ to SFX and DVD mastering attendees will cover most aspects of video production and complete a super short video.
