UCC SUMMER HOURS effective through August 24th We are open during the summer 10 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday. Daily Mass: 12:05 pm in the Mother Teresa Room. Reconciliation after Mass on Mondays and Tuesdays Sunday Masses: 10:30 am and 8:00 pm

16th Sunday of OT

Help Say Goodbye to Fr. Dave (and Chris Babb)! Next week, we will have a Going Away party for Fr. Dave after both Masses and need your help! There are sign-up forms at the Front Desk today for items to bring to make Fr. Dave’s last Sunday in Austin one to remember. Next Sunday will also be Chris Babb’s last Sunday working at the UCC. Chris has served as a Campus Ministry Intern for this last year; you’ve seen him most as our “choir director” at every Mass, every Sunday. Chris will leave the UCC to begin full-time studies in the UT School of Social Work pursuing a Master of Social Work degree.

St. Austin’s Summer Schedule until August 15:

Our new director, Fr. Ed Nowak, CSP and Chris’ soon-to-benamed successor will be with us the following week.

Monday, Wednesday Friday at 8 am and 5:20 pm Saturday - 5 pm, Sunday - 7:30 am, 9 am, 11:30 am

Have an old PC laptop?

Congratulations Jimmy & Michael! Jimmy Hsu was accepted into the Novitiate for the Paulists and will be leaving us this summer. Michael Markovich recently left to begin formation at a Trappist monastery in Colorado. Keep these young men in your prayers!

Where is Father Dave?

Compass Bible Study During the Summer!

I am still off to minister to travelers on the high seas. As a member of the Apostleship of the Seas, I am serving as the chaplain on Celebrity's Summit Cruise Ship, departing Venice and arriving in Barcelona on Wednesday. Being a pastor to 2000 passengers and 1000 crew is an arduous undertaking, so please keep me in your prayers as I enjoy some vacation time before I begin my new assignment on August 1 as Director of Vocations for the Paulists. I will see you all at my last Sunday Mass at the UCC on July 27. -- Father Dave P.S. Be sure to stay a few minutes after Mass next week and join me in a Going Away reception.

Meeting on Tuesday nights from 7-8 pm in the St. Francis Room during the Summer, Compass is a fun and laid-back way to read scripture and get a little more out of Mass. Every week we spend an hour discussing the next Sunday’s readings and sharing our faith. We are student run, student led, and totally low time commitment, so drop by whenever you can. Come hang out with us this Tuesday! Father Dave’s Summer Movie Pick Earning near universal praise, Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animated Studios have joined together to create Wall-E. What a wonderful movie for the whole family! Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune says, “It's remarkable to see any film, in any genre, blend honest sentiment with genuine wit and a visual landscape unlike any other.” Go see what might well end up being the best movie of the summer. Metacritic.com gives this one an astronomical score of 93. Reminder: If you park in the alley on Sundays, please do not block our fire exit or access to the Central Parking lot used by the University Christian Church.

Micah 6 Food Pantry UCC participates in the ecumenical Micah 6 food pantry through donation and volunteering on Thursdays and Saturdays. Many of the people we serve are homeless. Don’t forget our “neighbors” who have nothing during the summer months. Please continue to bring canned goods and packaged dry goods to Sunday Mass for the baskets near the fountain. We meet on Tuesdays at 7 pm in the Mother Teresa Room throughout the Summer. Paulist Fun Fact of the Week: Fr.
