Lent 2009 ASH WEDNESDAY—THIS WEDNESDAY The UCC will have Mass at 12 pm, 3 pm and 5 pm. We will join for a Joint Christian Service at 7 pm on the Main Mall. We will also have a Liturgy of the Word at 9 pm. All services will have ashes. All are invited to celebrate Fat Tuesday (February 24th) at MeatFest 09, hosted by Lambda Omega Alpha. An all-you-caneat dinner of brisket, pork, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, sides, and desserts will be available from 6:00 to 10:00 in the UCC atrium. Admission will cost $7.00 upon entrance or $5.00 if prepaid today after all UCC Masses. 100% of the event’s proceeds will support Micah 6, a local ecumenical food pantry operated by seven nearby parishes. Lenten Soup Makers Needed Lent is just around the corner and we will be having our community Lenten Soup Suppers again this year on Fridays during Lent. The soup for these suppers is provided by student and resident community members of the UCC. We are hoping to have about 18 soup makers during lent this year each providing approx 20-30 servings. If you can help make soup for one of the meals, please email me, Michael Burkhart, at [email protected]. Lenten Renewal Retreat The UCC will be hosting its annual Lenten retreat Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7. The theme is Our Baptismal call: Priest, Prophet and King. The retreat will begin 6:20 Friday night with Soup Supper and continue on Saturday. Cost: $5.00 for students and $10.00 for non-students. Registration will be this weekend and next or online at http://s.utcatholic.org/lent09

Tuesdays ● 7:00 pm ● St. Mark Room 8 pm Mass Parking Changes 8 pm Mass attendees are no longer able to park in the lot at the corner of 20th and Whitis. This lot had been leased by St. Austin’s on Sundays and they had generously allowed us to use it for our late Mass. Since St. Austin is no longer leasing that lot, we can no longer use it. The UCC Staff is investigating other possible parking arrangements and will announce any new parking in the bulletin. Thanks for your understanding. Phonathon 2009 Calling all students! Starting March 1st we will be phoning parents, alumni, friends and benefactors during our 3rd annual Phonathon campaign and we need your help! There will be prizes awarded for individuals and student groups including food, gift cards, cash, and even a spot in our parking lot. For more information contact Vanessa: [email protected]
