About the Institute The UFT Teacher Center Title I Regional School Support Center (RSSC) invites you to attend our Saturday Insitute Worksessions. These worksessions are designed to assist school teams in developing the finalized version of the 2009-2010 Comprehensive Educational Plan (C.E.P.). Participating school teams are asked to bring “working copies” of the school Comprehensive Educational Plan. Teams will receive technical assistance from a member of the UFT Teacher Center Title I RSSC team. School team members will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of each section of the C.E.P., including the required Apendices. Areas will include:

The Institute Work Sessions will focus on assisting school teams with: •• > Developing the school’s Comprehensive Educational Plan. •• > Conducting a comprehensive needs assessment that evaluates the strengths and prioritizes the needs of the school. •• > Developing and implementing an effective professional development plan that incorporates instructional strategies based on scientifically based research. •• > Using data to inform the continuous school improvement process. •• > Designing strategies to increase parental engagement. •• > Facilitating the sharing of instructional plans and “best practices” among participating schools.
Registration Procedures Registration is required. Space is limited and registration is first come, first served. •• > Teams of educators from each school must register online (www.ufttc.org/cep.html). •• > When registering be sure to specify the school, telephone number, location and list participants with grade levels and/or constituency. •• > Confirmation of registration will be sent by E-mail. Please bring confirmation to the first session.
