At Thomson Wilks, we have substantial experience in commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, take-overs, structured finance, flotations on the J.S.E. and general commercial and contractual matters. We have featured amongst the top 50 deal-making law firms in South Africa as published in the annual Ernst & Young “Mergers & Acquisitions Review”. We have a strong litigation practice, with the experience and ability to deal with highly complex commercial litigation down to basic legal collections. We also have an extensive general litigation and family law practice. Matters in which we have been involved and challenged accepted legal norms, have featured regularly in the South African Law Reports. We have extensive experience in insolvency related matters and have been involved in a number of large liquidations both locally and abroad. We act on behalf of a number of biotechnology, telecommunications and mining clients and have developed a strong practice in each of these fields of law. Our firm has a large and competent conveyancing department with extensive experience in all aspects of conveyancing. We are on the A-Panels of all the major banking institutions for registration of bonds.
