This Sunday is ROUND UP SUNDAY ! Round Up Sunday at Red Rocks Baptist Church is this coming Sunday. Everyone is invited to join the RRBC family for a special service at 10:00a, a round-up lunch of homemade cowboy stew with cornbread & biscuits, pie, iced tea & lemonade, and a horse show by the exciting Westernaires. For all of the little cowboys and cowgirls (10 years old and younger) there will be free cowboy hats. Please RSVP to the school office if you plan to attend.

Homecoming 2008 October 4th is the annual Patriot Homecoming game and activities right here at Silver State Christian School. All students, families, alumni, and friends are invited to join in the festivities and support the varsity football team in the big game against North Park. Mark your calendar for an afternoon of fun, great competition, and good food. (By the way, we’ve just gotten word that the menu will be of delicious Mexican origin. Yes!! ) It all begins right here at 1:00

This Friday all Entertainment Book envelopes with orders and money are due. Remember, for only $25 you, your family, and your friends can purchase a 2009 Entertainment Book. These wonderful coupon books are full of incredible savings at your favorite stores, restaurants, entertainment, and travel. The more books sold the more SSCS earns money for classroom resources and instructional materials. We need your help to get all of our books sold.

H.S. Spiritual Emphasis

Awesome, a blessing, challenging, great are just some of the words used to describe the leadership sessions during Spiritual Emphasis. Kathy Kattes said, “It was a blessing to come together as a school for one day to learn about God and talk about teamwork.” Cristian Romero said that he learned a lot and summed up the day as great! Mrs. Endyk commented that, “The high school students enjoyed Spiritual Emphasis Day as they were challenged to be biblical leaders. It was okay in the past to park alongside the road next to the playground; however, this year we must ask that you pull off onto the asphalt at the north side of the building. Your cooperation will greatly alleviate congestion on our roadway and encourage safety for all concerned.

HAVE YOU HEARD??? Last Tuesday evening the Patriot volleyball team did an outstanding job against their tough opponent, Brighton. The Patriots may have lost the first game with a close score of 36/34, but they came back strong and won the next three. GO TEAM!! One of our coaches said, “The volleyball teams have lots of new girls this year, and they’re growing together as a team every game.” The Patriot varsity football team also played a great game against Maranatha on Saturday with a final score of 32/22. Way to go!! Our teams are awesome to watch, so don’t miss any of the upcoming games. Come out and show your support for the Patriots!!

November 99-15 is the Northern Colleges Tour for any interested 9th9th-12th grade students. This tour includes Maranatha Baptist Bible College, Faith Baptist Bible College, and Northland Baptist Bible College. Parents, please consider your child’s need for a complete Christian education. This college trip could be an opportunity to insure a greater spiritual influence in their biblical walk with the Lord.
