The family, founded on marriage, is a unique communion of persons which God has made the "natural and fundamental group unit of society

A Christian family is like that of Nazareth in which is an earthly dwelling of blessedness.

E. Significance of the Family

“Television and the other communications media have immense power to sustain and strengthen such communion within the family, as well as solidarity with other families and a spirit of service to society.” The message is grounded on the fact that God entrusted His will to the parents to ultimately guide their children to fruition and be instruments of His creation.

The significance of family in this encyclical is that through the recitation of the Holy Rosary, which is considered as the most effective means to achieve something, it then connotes importance of solidarity in the family and that they can overcome trials with the help of the Virgin Mary. It is through the praying the rosary by the family because this helps them see that they should not only be fixated on themselves but should also acknowledge other in society as well.

It is that material things can either make or break us, and we should always turn back to God especially when we feel that we are being succumbed to its influence.

I’ve learned that we shouldn’t just be focused on ourselves or within the bounds of familial relations. This tell us that we should also be empathic and sympathetic to other around us because we are instituted by Christ not just as separate segments but rather as His holy church.
