In a world that was once closed to new ideas, it gradually grew out of it for individuals have felt that they are having a closed mindset about matters can ultimately lead one to probable harm and eventually affect the society at large. This deals with the recent approval of President Duterte with regards to the “Simulated Birth Rectification Act of 2018” (Casayuran, 2019). The simplification of the adoption process involves the: a) granting of amnesty for the best interest of the child; b) fixing of the filiation status of the child; c) exempting those who simulated the birth record of the adoptee from criminal, civil and administrative liability; d) providing a cheaper proceeding with regards to adoption; and e) educating and encouraging the public about the act and its benefits. The adoption process in the Philippines made significant impacts in the country and is a step forward towards a more preferable and inclusive society. A society that is preferred and inclusive if it 1) does not bring more harm than good, 2) does contribute to the betterment of the self and then eventually the society, and 3) does become beneficial in the long run. The “Simulated Birth Rectification Act of 2018” is the act that does not bring more harm than good in the country. The Philippines is considered as a conservative nation wherein its people are largely influenced by the teachings of a secular institution just that of Christianity (insert citation). This predominant influence that the country has impedes the development of the country because it traps the people only in a box of only a limited perspective. The approval of the simplification of the adoption process makes conservatives feel that one is depriving the child of his right to know who his biological parents are, but this also serves as a way to incentivize poor families. These families do not have the financial means to go about their daily lives because of their poor state. In the event that a poor family is confronted with by a birth of a child, then they will either stand idly by as the child grows up or not be able to support him/her at the end of the day. This law helps many rather than be more harmful because it gives another preferable option for marginalized families to help their children be supported for they cannot be able to do so. In the rectification of the birth records of the children, this can contribute to their betterment because it engenders upon their legitimacy, parental authority and succession (Congress, 2018). In terms of legitimacy, the adoptee will now be considered as a legitimate son or daughter and is now entitled to all rights and obligations that provided by the law to them without having any discrimination. The parental authority deals with the severing of ties of the adoptee with his/her biological parents so that the adopter will not have the actuality to doubt his/her authority. Lastly, the succession of the adopter and the adoptee will be both given reciprocal rights to succession; and only if the adoptee’s biological parents left a will, then the law on testamentary succession will take place. All of the reason stated contribute to the betterment of the individual especially the adoptee and as well as the adopter because it gives out and incentivizes the rights of these individuals. This betterment of individuals can definitely be translated to societal betterment as well because once all of the individuals are incentivized, they will be more productive. If a unit is said to be productive alongside with other units, it will result to having a very productive unit. This means that if adopters are able to be productive through the law, it will result to societal progress.

Having this law, it would become beneficial in the long run because senators would not make laws that would be harmful to the society. The signature of the president is a form of approval to this law which means that there is an inherent good in this simplification of the adoption process. The adoption process touches upon not only the lives of those going to be adopted, but also gives light to the lives of the adopter. The adopter is the one who is ready to shelter and support the life of a child. Through this simplification of the process, it would incentivize these adopters support towards their soon to be adopted child because the law states that it will sever ties with the biological parents and remove it completely in the birth record of the child. This then implies that Why it’s beneficial to the child at the end of the day give out legitimacy, parental authority, sucession
