The Most Affluent Village in China 中國最豪華的村莊 ... 中國最豪華的村莊長什麼樣子？位於江蘇省江陰縣的 華西村，被稱為中國最豪華的村子，其照片近來在網 路上流傳，令網友驚嘆，一個小村子有仿造美國「國 會大廈大廳」、天安門，家家戶戶都有自己的別墅， 造型各異。 CHINA’S MOST AFFLUENT VILLAGE What does China’s most affluent village look like? Huaxi (lit. West China) village is situated in Jiangsu province, Jiangyin county is arguably China’s wealthiest village. When fotos of the village gained a foothold on the internet, people was astonished to see that a “small” village has imitations of the US Congress, Tinanmen; and every one has his own version of free-standing house.

村民年收入 53 萬 華西村原有 80 戶， 1520 人，面積 0.96 平方公里，在 60 年代稱為華西大隊該村書記吳仁寶已成傳奇人物， 因他把村落當企業經營，讓這村一下子就富了起來， 現成為中國著名的旅遊景點之一。 AVERAGE INCOME IS USD 1,715 Huaxi village originally has 80 families, 1,520 people, on 0.96 sq km. In the 1960s Huaxi’s brigade’s Secretary WU Yunbao was a legend. He transformed the village into a private enterprise [against, or ahead of Beijing’s rules – PK] thereby enriching every villager. Now the village is one of China’s favourite travel destinations.

為擴大景點， 20 01 年，華西村和周邊的 16 個村一 起組成了大華西村，面積擴大到 30 平方公里，人 口也增加到 3 萬多人，現在村民的年平均收入約有 53 萬元台幣，是中國農民平均收入的 40 倍。 In order to increase the sightseeing spots, in 2001 Huaxi and the neighbouring 16 villages joined to form the Greater Huaxi Village. The area increased to 30 sq km, and the population to over 300,000 people. Now the average income is USD 1,715 per annum, which is 40 times the average Chinese rural income.
