The Testimony Of Brent Makinson

Testimony Brothers and sisters I apologise in advance for making this contribution at this time and if it is less than perfect it is because I am in a great deal of pain because I am having abdominal surgery at Gisburn Park Hospital and they are going to try to save my life.

My name is Brent Makinson and I want to share my TESTIMONY with you today and it involves nothing short of a miracle.

People say that God works in mysterious ways but I can tell you that it is absolutely true. And I have prayed, been answered,

and my prayers have

and I have been blessed, and I have to tell you that

the spirit is in me, and it's a very powerful thing and you can see what it is doing for me. It is changing my life.

I have been an alcoholic for many years and I have freed myself from my addiction to alcohol for 1 year now and I have been living the Word of Wisdom for 6 months now and it works, and it works in a mysterious way, and I believe in the Mormon faith with all my heart, and I believe in the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost, and I believe in God because there is nothing more beautiful than the world which he created, and I believe in the Prophet Joseph Smith, and he was a very special person.

The Holy Spirit is an instrument of God's will and I am going to follow my instincts and pray for forgiveness every single day, and I am going to be very aware of my imperfections, and I am going to try to be spotless in the eyes of Jesus Christ when he returns to this world to sort out this mess which we find ourselves in, and I believe he is going to do this very quickly because the world is in trouble,

and God never envisaged creating something less than perfect and he is going to make sure that the imperfections are put right.

And brothers and sisters I have been waiting for this moment all of my life because there will be a judgement day, and I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ and his ability to do this, and I want you to join with me when I say my prayer for the day.

PRAYER FOR THE DAY

DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, WE ASK THEE TO DIRECT OUR THOUGHTS AS WE SEEK TO KNOW AND TO FOLLOW THY WILL. HELP US TO UNDERSTAND THAT LIFE IS A PRECIOUS GIFT GIVEN BY THEE TO GLORIFY THY NAME AND GUIDE US IN OUR EFFORTS TO THANK THEE FOR OUR BLESSINGS THROUGH HUMBLE PRAYER. GIVE US THE WISDOM TO LIVE OUR LIVES ACCORDING TO THE PRINCIPLES LAID DOWN IN THE BOOK OF MORMON AND TO FOLLOW THE PATH TOWARDS RIGHTCHOICENESS.

WE ARE MINDFUL OF OUR IMPERFECTIONS AND WE STRIVE TO CORRECT THEM EVERY DAY IN THE HOPE THAT WE MAY BE WORTHY TO STAND BEFORE THEE AS OBEDIENT SERVANTS OF THY WILL. WE SAY THESE THINGS IN REMEMBERANCE OF THINE ONLY SON WHOSE SACRIFICE MADE POSSIBLE THE SALVATION OF MANKIND.

i want to express my love for the Elders and everybody in the church worldwide for giving me the inspiration to do this and if I can express my love for other people in the way that they do I would consider myself blessed. But there are four people who have helped me more than they can imagine and that is Alf Hathaway, William Haddock, Tony Anderson and the Bishop. I am going to be a true Mormon for the rest of my life.
