I think that the film is set in 1940.

The elements for create the atmosphere in this film are a gothic elements, the phantoms, the strange personages, the old house, etc. Also I think is a Gothic film for your argument, full of surprises and intrigue. It’s certain, that the terror films I don’t like it, and my knowledge is very poor respect this subject, and for this reason my opinion isn’t important.
