TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

1. There will be a $50 entry fee to enter the competition, which is refundable in the event your application to enter the Battle of the Bands is unsuccessful. 2. Members of competing bands can be of all ages. (Although if under the age of 18 an adult must in the presence of the minor at all times) 3. You are expected to carry out promotion & marketing for all heats in which you are involved, including –but not limited to- posters, flyers, mail outs and adverts through your website / MySpace etc (if you have one). Please also provide a sample of your bands music, ie through myspace, youtube or demo. 4. Should you pull out of the event after your application has been accepted we will not be able to refund your entry fee. 5. Once you have agreed to perform on your given date, no changes can be made. 6. You must be available for the semi-final and final dates. 7. PA Supplied. Bands must provide their own instruments and stage amps 8.Performance times will be drawn by ballot at the pre-event meeting. Bands must be able to play on a Saturday night. The nominated contacts will be advised of each band’s drawn playing time.Times may very on the day. All bands must arrive for sound checks to start promptly at 6.30pm on all dates. 9. You must agree to play in the order drawn at random on the pre-event meeting night. 10. Each band will be allocated 20 – 40 minutes playing time. 15 minutes will be allocated per band for setup and pack down 11. No backing tracks 12. No stage diving, pyrotechnics, or any behaviour that nay endanger the audience or event participants. Abuse of supplied equipment or hotel property will disqualify the competing offender(s) who will also be held financially responsible for any damage caused. 13. There will be no riders for bands on the night, although the venue will provide water throughout the evening. 14. Only bands will be permitted backstage. No fans / friends will be allowed backstage. 15. All equipment must be removed from the venue at the end of the evening. 16. Any photographs taken during the course of the competition are the property of Grand Central Hotel & Lantis group Pty Ltd, and may be used in publications & press to advertise the event. Grand Central Hotel accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage of equipment used during any of the heats, semi finals or Grand Final. 18. Accommodation will be provided for up to 4 people on the night of performance at the Grand Central Hotel. Any damage or misuse of the rooms provided will result in immediate disqualification of the band. 19. Only the winner of each heat will be announced. Results will be given on Sunday at 4pm. The band contact person if not there in attendance will be notified immediately. Further information on scores is available on request by email ([email protected]). Please do not harass judges or staff for scoring information, as this will not be disclosed on the night. 20. The judges’ decisions are final, and no discussion will be entered into.
