November Calendar

LOVE HAS COME Every year I find myself amazed at how quickly the holidays roll around. It seems like just yesterday I was relaxing by the pool enjoying the lazy days of summer, and now we are gearing up for Thanksgiving and Christmas! And before you know it, 2010 will be here! In just a few weeks we will be celebrating Thanksgiving, and just 3 days after that we will celebrate the b eginning of Advent. This year our theme is “The Lights of Christmas,” and we will be focusing on the light of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love that come from Jesus Christ – the Light of the World. What a great celebration! These lights are with us throughout the year, not just at Christmas time, and that is something to truly give thanks for during our holiday celebrations! As is customary, we will be kicking off the Advent season with our annual Hanging of the Greens worship service. This year

THURSDAYS - PIZZA At Your Place! Each Thursday Student Ministry leaders Greg Bunton & Mark Taylor stop in at a different high school with PIZZA! Don’t miss us at YOUR school this month:

the service has been “re-designed” to incorporate the traditional service in a new way. And I want all of you to be involved. Middle school – you get to do the decorating. High School – you have some very important (and dramatic) reading parts. And all of you get to wear your pajamas! Plus, a new song has been written just for you and this service! Our rehearsals start soon, so plan on attending. The first one is Sunday, November 8 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., and the second one is Sunday, November 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Finally, we will meet on Sunday, November 29 at 4:30 p.m. to put any last finishing touches on the service before we actually lead it that evening at 6:30 p.m. I hope each one of you will be a part of this incredible service as we proclaim, “Love Has Come,” and celebrate the beginning of Advent.
