To: AAT-20, ATX-1, AEA-500 AAL11, B762/E, BOS to LAX, departed BOS at 1200Z. UAL 175, B762/E, BOS to LAX, departed BOS at 1214Z. 1238Z ZNY R42 initiates a track as AAL11A on primary target over Kingston VOR as a result of a point-out from ZBW. 1240Z UAL 175 checks in on ZNY R42 level at FL310 from ZBW. Track passes over AAL11A track. 1241Z ZNY R42 asks USA583 if he saw AAL11. A/C responds that he saw something on his TCAS. 1241:31Z UAL175 states that he heard a suspicious transmission on departure frequency like some trouble onboard another aircraft. 1244Z

USA583 states receiving an ELT.

1247:25Z Radar contact is lost on AAL11 over NYC. A/C appears to fly down Hudson River then turns left direct WTC. 1249Z

UAL 175 switches to beacon code, 3321.

1253Z

UAL175 climbs to FL335 and starts a left turn toward NYC.

1254Z

UAL 175 starts descent and continues left turn.

1254Z ARD VOR.

UAL 175, FL284 crosses path of DAL2315, FL280, within 2-3 miles near

1301Z UAL 175 is over EWR at 10,000 feet. A/C starts descent at 1,100 to 1,400 feet every 12 seconds. 1303:03Z

Radar contact lost with UAL175 at 2,200 feet.
