Subject: FW: FBI documents
FYI. You might ask Pat O'Brien how we might best craft a well targeted request. Philip
Original Message From: Richard Ben-Veniste (blackberry) Sent: Sat 4/17/2004 1:26 PM To: Philip Zelikow; Dan Marcus Cc: Subject: FBI documents I have received a tip from a former law enforcement official who remembers that in the 1990s the FBI lab was asked to research the damaged that might be caused if a fully fueled passenger plane were flown into a building. The request was apparantly tied to some al Q report and sent to the "bomb data center" in the FBI. Please make a written request for all information in FBI files regarding planes as missies and specifically for the above. Thanks. Richard Ben-Veniste.

1. All documents regarding studies or analyses conducted or requisitioned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, including the Bureau's Bomb Data Center, to assess the damage that might be caused by the crash of an aircraft into a building. The documents should include materials sufficient to describe the reasons that any such study was undertaken.
