Bill and John: Further to our discussions on Dallas on January 8, 2004 and our various teleconferences subsequently, we are writing to provide you with some additional information as a partial response to your requests. 1. Actual Load Factors- The actual load factor for AA Flight 11 on September 11, 2001 was 51.26%. There were 81 passengers (including the 5 terrorists) and a total of 158 seats available in the three classes. The actual load factor for AA Flight 77 on September 11, 2001 was 32.95%. There were 58 passengers (including the 5 terrorists) and a total of 176 seats available in two classes. 2. GTE Air phone Records American does not have any records for telephone calls made from the GTE phones on Flights 11 and 77. The service provider for these phones was AT&T Claircom. Claircom maintained all records pertaining to calls made from these phones. Itemized records for phone calls were not provided to American. The only reports American received from Claircom were monthly system wide reliability reports, which did not list individual calls made on specific flights. Claircom went out of business in 2002. 3. Information for AA employee Toni Knisley Toni Knisley's name was provided to the Commission during the telephone interview of Patty Carson. As you will recall, Ms Carson was called by the parents of Flight 77 Flight Attendant Renae May moments before the aircraft struck the Pentagon. MS. Knisley is a Flight Services Manager at DCA (Reagan National Airport). We will provide you with additional information as we locate it. Regards. Chris
