The photocopies showed Egyptian passport #1617066, issued in Hamburg on 8 May 2000., as well as what appeared to be an Egyptian identity document, #M387555. The passport showed a German "Aufentshaltsbewilligung" (indicating residence) numbered R00352475, issued in Hamburg on 9 May 2000. Only a few pages were photocopied. NHS records indicate that ATTA made several entries to the United States. 3 June 2000

IFBIQD examiner visited the FDL to seek Assistance in the examination of a passport recovered from United flight 93, which crashed in PA. . t,-. I confirmed that the passport was Lebanese. Many of the pages were missing; those recovered were extensively charred by fire. All of the pages examined were vacuum sealed in plastic for preservation. The pages were associated by common serial number perforations. An examination of the passport remain? revealed that it was genuine} The following observations support this finding: 1. Evidence of watermarks in the pages 2. Evidence of intaglio and microline printing on inside front cover 3. Conformity of background printing 4. Conformity of overall general descriptors of the passport pages (dimensions, etc.)
What was initially believed to be tape along the binding (assumption by the FBI) was identified as being the counter-tab of the photograph laminate which had melted along the binding. The biographical data page was missing, however a partial remnant of the MRV was intact. An examination of the MRV remains indicated that it was also genuine. The following observations support this finding: 1. Physical appearance of teslin 2. Intaglio and. microline printing were intact 3. Conformity of background printing 4. Presence/of UV security feature (however faint) Data in the machine readable area that was present provided some insight into the bearer's1 name (Ziad Jarrah), DOB, place of issuance and passport number. This information was forwarded tol I | ""[Senior Intelligence Officer. The above mentioned information was verbally provided to the FBI (acting as a consultant). A forensic report was not generated.

The FBI people brought over the remains of a visa, on which the passport number and identity information were still legible. NIIS queries show that the subject, Ziad JARRAH (DPOB 11 May 1975, Lebanon) had made six entries to the United States since spring of 2000. He appears to have travelled alone on these flights. The particulars are attached. Also on the attachment is the entry information on another identity queried by FBI, identified from a photo-copied Saudi passport also retrieved. That person. Saeed AL GHAMDI (DPOB 21 November 1979, Saudi Arabia), had one entry in summer 2001. A passenger on the same flight had a UAE passport and also listed a hotel address. This appeared unusual, as most of the people on that flight were families visiting Disney World and other Orlando attractions, so it is possible that this person, Fayez BANIHAMMAD (DPOB 19 March 1977, United Arab Emirates), was related to AL GHAMDI. NIIS printouts for all of the above were given to the FBI representatives.
