JLncluding the subjects of this arrest and arrests conducted in January of this year, refused to spe^k to t;he authorities and are presently in the custody of. the court 'system. The computers seized were believed to have been use\ for \the publishing activities of Harkut Ul Jihad. One; of t^e computers is a Macintosh based system and the other is a Windows based system. There were also a number of floppy disks, recovered. \h will, be forwarded to the FBI laboratories and

maintained as evidence. SA|_ also made cursory examination of additional copies of all the material seized but did not find any information which '-..appeared to be connected to terrorist activity: Deputy Director)|j^^then explained that the ff had attempted to access the, computer systems using f | j [ computer specialists. It was SAI J opinion that information may have been lost during this initial examination. Both computers and all the floppy disksw^Q be examined in detail by the FBI Laboratory. The investigative team was able\o function ^efficiently and accomplish its tasks rapidly, without any Complication. \n addition to the abbye investigation, SA I with various U.S. Embassy staff to discuss two letters received by the embassy. According to the -RSO's office, two individuals wh.o recently applied for U.S. visas-, were -connected to the Usama Bin Ladin terrorist organization by anonymous sources. In both cases anonymous letters were received-, concerning the individuals. Each letter alleged that the person applying for a U.S. visa was involved with the Bin Ladin terrorist organization. There did not. appear to be a connection between tn'es two bases. The Consular's office also indicated that letters such as this are not\n and are usually impossible to.verify. The Embassy Consular's office supplied the two names as I I and I I The Consular's office was requested to pass any future information to the State Department and to FBI NY.
