Message from Beth at Parkes Mines Birthdays and Anniversaries

Hello again to the Strike Force working Family, The time has come around very quickly for our second newsletter to be produced and distributed, once again our company performance has been incident free(no LTIs) which means our attention to safety continues to be very strong Well done every one. The month has been very eventful with a number of new jobs commencing, and some very large tenders submitted including all the Delta electricity Power Stations which involved maximum man power. I would like to thank Dallas Harris (site supervisor) Bayswater Power Station, Warren Northey John Adams and Jackie G for their support ,as without their assistance I would not have been able to cover the territory, and then the compiling of the required tender response which involved 4 "A" four lever arch files in the form of presentation documents, We will cross our fingers for a successful outcome. Whilst this component of our business is essential for our continued progress, the more important component is our existing business, which we need to continue to service in our most diligent way. Remember it is harder to win new Business than it is to service our existing Business/Clients and I would like to thank all of you, for going that extra yard in servicing all our sites in a most efficient and pleasant manner. I know our clients appreciate this attitude in the current economic climate. Keep up the good work. Regards, Hardy

Would you do either of these for your job?

STRIKE FORCE SERVICES EMPLOYEE NEWSLETTER

Employee News – Jackie Email: [email protected] The Strike Force administration team has increased to include Danielle (Danni), we welcome her with open arms and anticipate a more organized Strike Force administration area and less grey hairs for me. We are currently in the process of sourcing a new payroll system which will hopefully give us a more detailed view of all employees’ wages and consequently a better form of pay slip for you our employees, we will keep you posted on more information as it happens. If you are planning holidays it is requested that you advise two months in advance to allow the protocol of being approved by our operations team (Hardy and Warren) and to plan the replacement on your site. Sick leave is always difficult to anticipate we know, but the more notice the better to allow us to organize a replacement. Supervisors, please advise the office if any stock order is short delivered as we have a policy of no backorders these are automatically cancelled, consequently this stock will need to be re-ordered through the office. All stock requirements must be phoned emailed or faxed to the office the last week of any given month for delivery the first week of the month. Warren and Hardy are not in a position to place the orders for any site, as they are always on the road visiting clients and staff. Amanda, Danni and I, hope all the Mothers of Strike Force Services had a great family day last Sunday, I am writing this newsletter before the event and as Hardy and I have six children the youngest is now 17 years of age I expect to hit “pay dirt.” Regards Jackie

OPERATIONS – Warren Northey Email: [email protected] Ph: 0427 985 606

Hello again everyone. Well what a busy month and newsletter time has come so quick. Just a little note that my phone number has changed, it is 0427 985 606.The old 1 you may have had is my personal number. Just a note on our stores ordering system. We have had a small problem with our supply company in regards to items you have ordered haven’t been delivered correctly; we are in the process of rectifying this. I would also like to point out that if anyone resigns or is terminated from the company, that all uniforms and identity/entry exit cards must be returned to site supervisor before your final payments will be processed. I am also in the process of verifying all of our site rosters according to what our clients have agreed and what we are responsible for, we are going to be doing this at each site. As you can all appreciate some of our clients have changed what we are responsible for, so we at Strike Force have had to make changes according to their requests. Thank you for your patience in this matter. Please be advised that if any staff have any issues regarding rosters, holidays etc , please speak to your Site Supervisor regarding this. I liaise with them regarding this, but they are responsible for granting your requests. In normal circumstances I would like to have all requests for leave, to be notified 6-8 weeks before you would like to take your leave so that someone can be organized to do your work. Thank you again to everyone , and I have had many great reports of how you are all working so well in supplying quality cleaning and service to our clients and because of this we are growing, we will be starting the cleaning of areas for the Taree Council in the next couple of weeks, keep up the great work. I would also like to congratulate Tina Haines on her appointment to leading hand of the Maitland Council contract. Keep up the good work Tina, Regards, Warren

Strike Force Services at North Parkes Mines (NPM) from Beth Stewart

Beth Stewart (Site Supervisor)

Dennis Hanna, Robert Charlton, Stephen Townsend

On 1st July last year SFS started their new contract at NPM, which is 30 km NW of Parkes in central NSW. The site has 2 open cut operations, an extensive Underground cave mining operation (which is the only one of its type in Aust) and has 32km of roads Underground), ore processing dept, health and training centre, big main admin block, lab, Underground Ops offices (yes we go underground to clean), and lots of other smaller buildings. I was the previous Contractors’ Site Supervisor and have worked at NPM for 16months. In my time at NPM I have seen lots of expansion at the mine. However on 15th Dec 08, due to the world economic situation it was announced by Rio Tinto that the new E48 U/G expansion/production was being suspended and would cease on 15th Jan this year. This meant several hundred people were all put off on that date, and the subsequent loss of six buildings on site has meant that our workforce at NPM has reduced from 7 when we started to only 4 staff at present. My staff and I all have a strong work ethic at NPM and have been Lost Time or Injury (LTI) free since we started our contract. We deliver Quality Cleaning with Safety at NPM.
