Who we are. The TourismusMarketing Niedersachsen GmbH ( TMN ) was founded in 2001 and as the marketing organisation of the federal state its task is to market the holiday destination of Niedersachsen on a national and international level. Our aim is to win people over for holidays and travelling in and to Niedersachsen and thus assure a long-term demand. The continuous quality improvement of the offers and services is also one of our core businesses. Apart from the economic shareholders, tourism organisations and associations, numerous funding sources, touristic facilities and also federal state and national political representatives rank among our partners. By means of an extensive market research, we support our partners in efficiency control and developing sustainable marketing strategies. Our measures are closely connected to the tasks of tourism politics and the objectives of the Ministry of Economics, Labour and Transport. We are available for politics with our know-how on market activities as well as developments and trends, and as advisor and source of information. We see ourselves as a driving force for new approaches in communication and marketing, as a partner within the framework of cooperations and as creative minds for a continuous process of improvement.

Improvement of national and international awareness of the federal state and regions

Promotion of the image of Niedersachsen as a travel destination

Touristic market research for a targeted application in the tourism business

Development of innovative communication concepts and marketing actions

Consulting and support of tourism partners in the development of products and offers

Consulting of the federal government in questions of recreation and tourism business

Improvement of sales presence on foreign source markets

Networking of our partners with tourism organisations on a national and EU level

Representation of Niedersachsen in marketing cooperations and organisations with other federal states

Supra-regional cooperation, especially with the press, radio and television

Establishment of a research and development department for tourism

Market research Analysing markets, taking advantage of opportunities We develop new instruments allowing our partners to gain a more differentiated insight in current travelling trends and market activities. Doing this, we closely cooperate with renowned market research institutes. Based on surveys, statistics and mathematical models, we provide our partners with analyses and important impulses for a professional and trendsetting marketing.

Product development Enhancing the profile, developing markets We take care of the continuous development of national and international source markets for the tourism in Niedersachsen. Taking this into consideration, developing attractive products as well as their placing on the market is part of our priority objectives. We are furthermore engaged in providing competent contact persons for the travel industry in the source markets for assembling of travel products and their marketing. The classical three pillars – marketing, sales and public relations – thereby support our public relations with respect to the products.

Quality management Getting better, staying better Our guests’ contentment is the touchstone of our success. This is why quality development and assurance are part of our central tasks. Within the context of our quality management system we are following the goal of enhancing the awareness of quality in all areas. Supporting the quality in Niedersachsen means to secure the guests’ demand in the long run.

Support of the federal state government Side by side, supporting and consulting The Ministry of Economics, Labour and Transport of Niedersachsen is an important principal to us. It currently supplies around 2.4 mio € per year for targeted projects, marketing measures and market research. An increase in budget to 3.0 mio € is planned until the year 2013. To the ministry, this is an important contribution for supporting the tourism business in Niedersachsen and for us it is the basis of a long-term securing of our work.

Operative Business Segments Market development international Inviting to stay, welcoming With our marketing measures abroad we are activating the demand and tourist traffic from foreign markets to Niedersachsen. On the one hand, we address our future guests directly, on the other hand, via travel operators and the media, especially by means of the press and the internet. We are currently focussing on different source markets. The Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Great Britain are of special relevance to our federal state. Besides our own activities, we are developing the markets of Austria, Switzerland and China with the Deutsches Küstenland e. V. ( DKL ), i.e. German Coast Country, as well as the Deutsche Zentrale für Tourismus e. V. ( DZT ).

Market development Germany Creating occasions, giving reasons to visit To support national tourism, we have specialised in the thematic development of products which are significant on a supra-regional and international level. Based on market research results, we define touristic topics, advertise them together with our partners – and therefore give attractive reasons for a journey to Niedersachsen.

Online marketing Informing extensively, convincing by quality Our websites inform consumers as well as representatives of tourism and media industry. The focus is on news, offers and topics from the holiday destination Niedersachsen, convincingly edited for Germany and abroad. We take care of the conception, administration, editorial tasks, efficiency control and online marketing of all internet measures.

Press and public relations Targeted placing, providing publicity Our press relations are closely interlocked with the other marketing measures of TMN. We inform the media abroad about current topics by means of targeted press releases and newsletters. An extensive and free image database supports the journalists from Germany and abroad in researching image material from Niedersachsen. Press trips of all kinds are also a fixed component of our work. We research individual topics and news for you.
