From the Heart of your President THE BUZZARD: If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top. THE BAT: The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble Creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place. If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about helplessly and, No doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight elevation from which it Can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash. THE BUMBLEBEE: A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there Until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself. Bikers: In many ways, bikers without Jesus are just like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee. They struggle daily with their overwhelming problems, frustrations and hopelessness, never realizing that all they have to do is look up! CMA Bikers; We are the GPS for those bikers without Jesus. God has called each of us to this Ministry because we do have the answer “looking up”, and God has challenged each of us to share that answer and hope that is within us. I look at July, and again God is giving us the opportunity to share His Hope. We have Friday nights at Woodson’s, the ABATE Boogie, Wetzel, and several Poker Runs, and secular biker events to name a few. As your Chapter President, I ask each of you to prayerfully consider which event is right for you & answer the call that God has given us. We also have the ability to “charge our spiritual batteries” in July, by attending CMA Eastern National and sharing in the fun, fellowship, worship, and God’s Word, blessing each other as we bond together. Life just doesn’t get much better than being a CMA Biker… Ride Safe & Share Jesus Jackson
VICE PRESIDENT CORNER A note from the vice president: Well the time for the Boogie is upon us. Jack, Paula and I will be going to it this July 16-19. It is a wild weekend where the people that go do just about anything they want. That is why CMA so desperately needs to be there. Sometimes people come to our tent seeking something better, sometimes just for water or coffee. Whatever they need we are there to minister to them. It gives me so much joy to pray with someone and let them know that Jesus loves them no mater what. Even though you may not be going to the Boogie there is still something I need you to do for us. Pray. We need to be focused on Gods plan for the weekend, not ours, and you can help us with that. So please pray. I know great things will happen and God will be lifted up for all to see. Phil Brown Vice President CMA
TREASURER’S REPORT I had something I wanted to write this month that I sort of “stole” from a comic strip. Unfortunately, though, I cannot find the comic strip and I do not want to mess up the message. Therefore, I do want to say a big “Thank you!” to all of the Son Rise Riders who have come out to the meetings and/or different ministries the chapter has done this last month. I have missed seeing several friends at the June and April meetings. I pray all is well with you and your families, and that you will be able to return soon. As I stated last month, “the fields are white and ready for harvest, but the laborers are few.” We need to get about being Jesus’ hands and feet on this earth before He gives that privilege to someone/thing else. God Bless you all! Paula Rae
ROAD CAPTAIN REPORT Woooo Hooooo!!!!!! Yup, it is prime riding season and I hope all of you are racking up the miles so we can have a good contest!!! Yes, all for fun and "prizes" (note the " quotes!!!, don't think you are getting a million bucks or a bail-out!!) But more importantly, those miles pout on your bike should give you, us more opportunities to talk to riders about CHRIST!!! We have the awesome responsibility to share about his cleansing blood to those we meet!! Better than the best, above all others!!! HE CAN CHANGE THEIR LIVES MORE THAN ANYTHING!!! We gotta be JACKED UP to do this!!! So if you have a divine appointment you can impart the blood of Jesus on those riders and secure their place in the KINGDOM!!!
Ok, enough of the Jesus stuff...JUST KIDDING!!! There is NEVER enough!!!! For those of you who are called to go out and "press the flesh", GO DO IT! If you are called to sit tight and battle the spiritual realm in prayer...GET TO IT!! The prayer covering you are putting on those in battle will protect them and support them in the battle!!! Ok, now onto the "boring" stuff... Get ready for a ride after our August meeting. We will be attending/riding in the Carl Brown Memorial Ride. Estelle, and her late husband Carl had been involved with our chapter, as well as H.O.G., and Legion Riders. Carl passed away with cancer, and the ride will benefit cancer research. Please be ready to ride after the meeting. FULL TANK!! NO EXCEPTIONS!! If you miss breakfast, ok. Just have a full tank (your bike..got it?) We are planning on going to Joe's Gizzard City after the September Meeting. They have more than gizzards, so do be put off if that isn't your thing. It is a couple hours up and back, so it will be a full day!! October will be Tony Packo's!!!! Mmmmm, yum. Fun place. Full day again. Be ready. We are planning these rides after the meeting so we can "gel" as a chapter, and when people see us having fun, and fellowshipping together they realize that people can ride motorcycles, be Christ centered, and have fun!!! Please get your yard work done, and have someone check on the dog, and get ready to have a fun day out with the chapter!!! EASTERN RALLY!!! If you are going, let us know. Miriam, Zeke and I will be heading that way and want to make sure that we haven't missed you, or riding with you!! RIDE SAFE..Keep the rubber side down!!! Ben
SECRETARY’S REPORT Our church does VBS a little different than most churches... we run VBS every Sunday through the summer during church. A few weeks ago Zeke's craft was a notedbook that he stamped and decorated. The purpose of the notebook was to give him a place to write down "God sightings". He is to look for things in his daily life that can be he recognizes as having been touched by the hand of God. It has been REALLY interesting to look at things in my daily life to illustrate God's creation...God's love...God's protection.... God's provision...etc. for Zeke to "recognize". I find that I am better connected to recognizing when God has HIS hand in my life. I want to encourage you to start your own "God sitings" notebook. Get connected with recognizing the hand of our Lord and heavenly Fatherin your own life. I hope that you will recognize HIS faithfulness, provision, guidance etc in your life every single day in every single moment. What will you see today that is an opportunity for God to speak to you...? Miriam Hunsicker, Secretary
CHAPLAIN’S REPORT Happy Independence Day everyone. The year is half over. Amazing isn’t it? 10 years ago we were jumping through all kinds of hoops to avoid a major computer glitch which we came to know as Y2K. 10 years ago! I moved to Fort Wayne 14 years ago. On July 6 I will have been a CMA member for 16 years! Kristina and I are celebrating our 4th Wedding Anniversary and next month will celebrate the 5th anniversary of our first date. Somehow I became my parents’ age, my parents became my grandparents’ age, and my grandma became my great grandma’s age. My grandpa went home to Jesus over 4 years ago and he is still in my thoughts daily. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. James 4:14b. When you first read this Scripture in Sunday School, it really doesn’t make any sense. After all, the Sunday School class lasted for what seemed like hours! Even through high school, though I understood this verse metaphorically, it still didn’t really feel like life was a vapor. Boy, has that ever changed!
Ecclesiastes 3 tells us: There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build. 1

Time is of the essence! We must keep focused on how short our lives are. It will help us to remember the urgency in sharing Jesus Christ with a lost and dying world. Our lives can end in a moment. The lives of those around us can end in a moment. This first part of James 4:14 makes this clear: “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow.” Hebrews 9:27 says, “Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” We must do our part to help others be ready to face this judgment. It is what we have been called to do! Let us tell others about our wonderful Jesus while we still have time! Blessed Beyond All Reason, Hollywood
What is CMA? C.M.A. (Christian Motorcyclist Association) is a nonprofit organization that has more than 950 chapters chartered in the U.S. and is in 25 other countries around the world. The main purpose of C.M.A. is to share the love of Jesus with other motorcyclists. This happens by attending motorcycle rallies, races, and rides, etc., where the gospel is shared.
Once a year CMA (Christian Motorcyclist Association) on the first Saturday of May, all across the USA and Mexico have a fund raiser. Each chapter plans a 100 mile motorcycle ride and all the money raised goes to Missionary Ventures, Open Doors, the Jesus Film Project and ministry to motorcyclist right here in the U.S.A. CMA is not a Christian Club or riding group designed to segregate Christians from the influence of the world, but rather to help send each person into the world by spreading the light of Jesus in dark places For more information about CMA you can contact a chapter near you by locating them on the CMA web site at www.cmausa.org
