Aim: Analysis and Design of given frame using STAAD.

Introduction: STAAD or (STAAD.Pro) is a structural analysis and design software application. STAAD.Pro is one of the most widely used structural analysis and design software products worldwide. It supports over 90 international steel, concrete, timber & aluminum design codes. It can make use of various forms of analysis from the traditional static analysis to more recent analysis methods. It can also make use of various forms of dynamic analysis methods from time history analysis to response spectrum analysis. The response spectrum analysis feature is to supported for both user defined spectra as well as a number of international code specified spectra. Procedure: 1. Open STAAD PRO and select “New project”. 2. Check “Space” and set the appropriate units.

3. Check “Add Beam”

4. Create a New Irregular grid and center relative X and Y co-ordinate distance

5. Draw the given beam.

6. Configure the shape of the beam, their dimensions and the material used.

7. In the “support” tab, select the type of support and assign them using “Use Cursor To Assign”.

8. In the “Loads” tab, select “Load Cases Details” and click “Add”.

9. Add the required loads needed with appropriate name and specification on whether they are dead or live loads. Include Dead load globally via self weight.

10. Specify the loads and position of the loads.

11. Assign loads to various beams as per loading condition. 12. Select the code used in building.

13. Add parameters of construction.

14. Define the design value of selected parameters.

15. Assign the various design parameters to specific beams or column.

16. Add commands of “Design beam” and “Take off”.

17. Analyse the beam.
