“SIN POPOTE ESTA BIEN” Con el título “sin popote está bien”, la secretaria de medio ambiente y recursos naturales (semarnat) lanzó una campaña para reducir el uso de popotes, este producto tarda cien años en degradarse y afecta a la vida silvestre marina. A través de la campaña la semarnat busca concientizar a la población sobre el impacto en la biodiversidad que tienen los popotes, los mensajes del uso efímero de los popotes en contraste con el tiempo que tardan en degradarse, hasta cien años o más. Si el uso de plásticos y popotes continua, en 2050 se proyecta que habrá más plásticos que peces en el mar. “uno solo no puede salvar millones de especies, di no al uso del popote”, “en nuestra mesa por 20 minutos, en nuestros mares por 100 años”, son algunas frases que esta campaña utiliza para incentivar a que las personas digan “sin popote está bien” y con ello evitar el daño por el consumo de este producto. La semarnat busca implicar a diferentes sectores y actores para emprender acciones concretas que desincentive el uso de popotes y plásticos; promoverá que en los establecimientos sirvan bebidas sin popote, retiren los expendedores y los popotes de la barra o de cualquier lugar visible.
