Sai Baba and Fasting In our country fasting on a particular day of a week and on religious festival is very common. Many Sai devotees also observe fasting on thursdays in order to seek lord Sainath's blessings and for getting their wishes fulfilled. Baba never gave any particular method for His worship. Baba never fasted Himself and never allowed others to observe fast. In this regard it is essential to refer the case of Mrs. Gokhale in chapter 32 and that of one Radhabai Deshmukh in chapter 28 & 29 in 'Shri Sai Satcharitra'. Once Mrs. Gokhale, came to Shirdi with a vow to observe Fast for three days while sitting in Baba's feet. However when Mrs Gokhale reached Shirdi and sat at Baba's feet, Baba told her that there was no necessity of fasting and directed her to go to Dadabhat's house and prepare a dish of puran poli and to feed his children and herself. Once Radhabai who was mother of Khashaba Deshmukh, on hearing Baba's fame she came to Shirdi with the people of Sangamner. She took Baba's darshan and was much satisfied. She loved Baba intimately and resolved in her mind that she would accept Baba as her Guru, and take some updesh from Him. She knew nothing else. She determined to fast herself unto death so long as Baba did not accept her and give her upadesh or mantra. She stayed in her lodging and left off taking food or water for three days. She decided to fast unto death. Her resolution to fast unto death reached Baba. Seeing her determination Baba called her to change her mind by addressing her as follows, 'Oh mother, why are you subjecting yourself to unnecessary tortures and hastening your death, you are really my mother, and I am your child take pity on me.' Baba always advised moderation in diet i.e. neither

fasting nor overeating. Baba was of the opinion that God is never attained on an empty stomach. In chapter 32 of Sai Satcharitra, under the heading 'quest' When Baba alongwith others was in search of Brahma on their own, they met one Vanjari who told them that no quest can be successfully carried out on an empty stomach; do not discard offers of food. Served dish should not be thrust away, offers of bread and food should be regarded as auspicious signs of success. B a b a accepted the hospitality of vanjari as Baba thought that it is the best beginning of getting knowledge, the moment lord Sainath of Shirdi accepted the loaf of bread offered, ate it and drank water, Baba's Guru appeared and stood before and who accepted Baba and made him to attain Brahma Lord Sai Nath of Shirdi always transformed and is transforming his devotees into himself not only during his life time but even today also. We, the Sai devotees must first know as to what advise Lord Sainath gave to his devotees and must try to follow Baba's advise. Shri Sai Satcharitra is the only granth which tells us about lord Sainath Himself and about His teachings, preachings and advises to people. Chapter 28, 29 and 32 clearly give Lord Sainath of Shirdi's views on fasting. Keeping in mind, views of Lord Sainath of Shirdi, we the devotees must not fast for Lord Sainath of Shirdi. -Premendra Ojha , Advocate

Shirdi Sai Pran Prathishtha Anniversary celeberated In Singapore On 5th February 2009 the 1st anniversary of Shirdi Sai Worship Centre in Singapore was celeberated with full devotion and enthusiasm. The Sai Baba temple was beautifully decorated. Silver thorne was fixed for Baba by Tikku family.This year there was unusual crowd of devotees who graced the occasion. The devotees came in folks after 5.30 p.m.which included people from different nationalities The program started with

vandana and presented many soulful bhajans. Everyone present there was fully engrossed in his bhajans. After aarti bhandara (prasad) was served to all who were present there.It started at

noon after the Arti & cotinued till 4PM. The entire program was organised by Tikoo family with the participation of many devotees in making this

Kakad aarti at 7 AM followed by Maha Abhishegam, Alankar & Archana. At 9 AM Ganpathy Homam, Navgrah Homam, Shiva Homam, Shri Sai Homam & Shakti Homam was performed. After Madhyan Aarti Maha Prasadam was distributed. From 2.30 PM Sai naam jaap was chanted for one hour. From 3.30 to 6 PM & 6.45 to 8.15 PM Sai bhajan recital was organised. Bhajan Samrat Saxena Bandhu Shri Surendra Saxena was invited for bhajans from India. A soulful recital of Sai Bhajans was performed by Bhajan Samrat Shri Surendra Saxena. He started bhajans with Ganpati

occassion a grand success. The Tikoo family is ardent devotee of Sai Baba who with the help of Sai devotees established this Shirdi Sai Worship Center SINGAPORE in February 2008. Every festival is celeberated in the temple as is

done in SAI Temples in India and all aartis are performed regularly by pandit ji. Baba Saved My Uncle I want to narrate a experience with Baba which was seen by many devotees in Kolkata. One could feel Baba's blessings and love for His Devotees. My mother's cousin sister's husband Mr. Arun Kapoor, owner of Ashoka Hotel Howrah, was seriously ill since January 2008. He was unable to eat because he had a tumor in his chest. Slowly he started losing his eye site and was not able to recognize anyone, his body weight slashed to 40 kg from 90 kgs and he was unable to stand, walk or talk properly. He was treated by the best doctors of Kolkata but there was no improvement. All kinds of pujas were performed religiously by his wife, family members and friends but there was no result. At last doctors suggested for surgery in Mumbai by the best doctors available. He was taken to Leelavati Hospital and was admitted for nearly a month. After surgery he returned back to Kolkata. He felt slightly better and was recovering but suddenly after two months the tumor which was operated, erupted again at the same place. This time his condition was even worse. Again specialist doctors were consulted from all over India but they were surprised that how within two month the same complications had started again. At this particular time I and our members of Sai Baba Bhajan Group visited him in his house. Seeing his condition we all were very upset. Doctors were not sure whether he would recover or not. We all were worried & concerned and our only hope was Shri Sainath Maharaj. We all started praying to Sai Baba and gave Udi, Sai Satcharitra & Baba's picture to his wife and requested her to put that picture just besides his bed. Every day she started applying Baba's udi on his forehead and started reading Sai Satcharitra every day. Within few days doctors decided to operate him again so they took him to Bombay once again and second time his operation was more critical and no one knew what will happen. After operation he was brought to

CCU. His kidney stoped functioning, he was not able to eat and speak. After one month they brought him back to Kolkata, but there was no improvement. We all started praying to Baba for him. We knew he is our saviour and Baba has said "tyaag shareer chala jaunga, bhakt hetu duara aaunga". Once again he was admitted in a Nursing Home of Kolkata where doctors said that only prayers and faith can make him stand again. I remember the day when I called my Bhabhi, she is a true SAI Devotee, she said "we all are going to nursing home to see him as doctor said that he can't say how long he will survive. Hearing that I felt very sad and tears rolled out of my eyes. I remember very well that day was monday I was going to my office so I decided to go first to Despriya Park Sai Baba temple for offering prayers. I took few small size Baba's pictures which were given to me by one Sai Devotee Mannu Bhai Just one day before in front of Mullick Bazar Shirdi Sai Baba temple so I kept few photos for distribution to his wife and son. I knew BABA is always there for his Children, He is our Sadguru PARAMPITA. I reached at 11 AM at the temple,but it was closed. In despriya park SAI BABA temple one thing is very good that they have two windows in front of the temple even if the temple is closed one can see Baba 24 hours and take His blessings. With my folded hands I prayed from the bottom of my heart to Sai Baba for the health & life of my uncle, he is only 52 years old and a nice gentleman, after praying to Baba I started searching for some Udi or Prasad. But temple was closed so I was unable to get any kind of prasad. I sat quietly on stairs of the temple and closed my eyes and started meditating. I was thinking about eleven assurance of Baba. As I finished my prayer and meditation, I distributed few pictures of Baba to devotees. After that I started moving towards my scooter because I had to rush to nursing home. As I started walking towards my scooter suddenly a young girl whom I gave

Baba's photo who was sitting on the stairs of the temple whom I never seen in my entire life asked me "Bhaiya aap Shirdi ka prasad letey jaiye" (Please take Shirdi's prasad) She gave me prasad and a few red roses of BABAS SAMADHI, it was fresh. It had few drops of water on it, I thanked Sainath for His blessings. I went straight to nursing home and I was shocked to see that everybody was crying because he was on ventilator. By seeing this situation & moment I distributed all of my Baba's prasad to every one present there and gave few flowers of Baba's Samadhi to his younger son and requested him to carry BABAS blessing which he has send in flowers to his father who was fighting like a warrior to conquer life.I requested him to touch these rose flowers on his fathers head immediately and young boy without wasting any time, within seconds ran towards CCU and touched all the rose flowers on his forehead and kept one Baba's picture there. We all were very happy that BABAs blessings and protection has reached from Shirdi for him. I thanked Baba again and again. I left for my office. Again I called them in the afternoon and checked his situation it was same. Next day when I called them I was cheered with happiness that he has opened his eyes and there was movement in his fingers. The same evening doctors decided to remove him from ventilator. After three days he was shifted to room. It was a miracle. His wife started reading Sai Satcharitra in the nursing home room and he use to listen with full devotion. He started praying himself, few days passed he now started eating light food and started talking to his visitors. With the Blessings of Baba he went home with smile on his face and giving lots & lots of thanks to Sai Baba. He came to our kirtan on 1/ 02/09 where he sat for one hour and invited our all members to perform kirtan at his house. We all Sai devotees went to his place on 8/02/09 for kirtan where he took part as a pure SAI DAVOTEE and took BABAS blessing. On that day Mahaprasad was distributed to everyone. The entire program was a grand success. There he declared that he will provide us any amount of iron to make temple of Baba or any kind of support to build Shirdi Sai Temple. He knew that our aim is to build Baba's unique temple in the city of Kolkata with the blessings of Sainath Maharaj. SAIRAM to all. -Sanjay Arora, Kolkata.

Baba Blessed Me It so happened that I was struck by some unknown fear which was killing me everyday, during that course of time I was not eating food I hardly use to eat only two spoons of rice and leave the rest. This went on for four weeks and I became very weak. I have been to a counseller to ask what is wrong with me, he told me that I need to go to a psychiatrist and take some drugs to calm my restless mind. I thought of finishing my life I just cried out the name of Sai Baba.. and to my surprise he came for my rescue that very moment. I left for Shirdi as if Baba has called me. I went to Shirdi

and sat in Dwarakamai asking him only one thing what is wrong with me. I sat there for six full hours and at that time, after every one minute I got his prasad which filled my hungry stomach that was starving for the last four weeks. It was like Baba saying to me, you haven’t eaten anything for so many days I am seeing you and I will feed you. Since then I have become normal without taking any drugs. After that Baba called me to shirdi within a span of two weeks and I had his wonderful darshan. Sai all my life is dedicated to you. The lord of lords you have come to save the life of this servent of yours courtesy- Sai Vichaar.

Shanti Kirwandikar falls in the well Babu Kirwandikar was a Brahmin devotee staying at Shirdi. He had a three-yearold daughter called Shanti, who loved Baba a lot. She often said that she was Baba's sister, and Baba reciprocated her love and called her 'Bai'. One day she fell into the well that was behind Sathe

wada. It was quite a long time before they could pull her out. But she was not hurt at all. The villagers were amazed to see her hale and hearty. Shri Sai Sumiran Times Amritvani in South Africa I would like to share my recent experiences with you all. On the 11th December Baba answered my prayers and gave me the opportunity to be present at the reciting of the Amrit Vani at Mr and Mrs Gupta’s house in Delhi, India. This was the most amazing day of my life. I had started the amrit vani in January 2008 and it was my constant yearning to be present at an amritvani with the Gupta’s. This yearning became a reality on the 11th December. I had carried with me my Sai Satcharitra from home (South Africa), which I had bought on one of my visits to india many years ago. Also a very dear friend of mine had asked me to buy a packet baba’s pendants and to take it to be blessed at the amrit vani. When we got there Mrs Gupta very lovingly asked me to place it at her shrine, as you can see in the

photos. To my amazement, Baba had blessed my satcharitra and all the pendants during the amritvani. He had also blessed all the prasad that the Guptas had placed at the shrine. He ate half a puri and the dessert that Mrs Gupta had made and was placed in the fridge was blessed with chandan. All this happened during the amritvani, right in our presence. The Amritvani has great powers and I am willing to help anybody in South Africa with any information that you may require with regards to the reciting. Recently I took my teenage daughter for her annual dental examination. Much to my dismay the dentist told me that she wanted to talk to me since my daughter had a white patch on her tongue. I was worried since a white patch can be a symptom for pre cancer. I prayed very hard to Sai Baba the ever benevolent and read Shri Sai Satcharitra in a week. I also mixed a little Vibuti in water and gave it to her every day. We took an oral biopsy and by Baba's grace the report was normal and there were no abnormal cells. Inaugural function of starting of Puntamba- Shirdi Train and Sainagar Railway station, Shirdi took place at the hands of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. New Prasadalaya Constructed by Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi The new Prasadalaya constructed by Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi spending Rs. 25 crores has received national level award from National Security Council (NSC). This Prasadalaya had fulfilled all norms of security system laid down NSC from construction point of view. Raghunath Aher, Chief Engineer of the Sansthan and Milind Joshi Dy. Manager, IVRCL accepted this award in a function held at Mumbai. The award was handed over by Union Labour Minister Oscar Fernandis in presence of Chairman of NSC Anand Mahindra. Till now, the private companies were getting this award. But, Sansthan has basically observed the norms of NSC while constructing this Prasadalaya on seven acre land. This project was inaugurated by President of India Pratibha Patil a few

months ago. But, more time was required to install the gas and solar system. This building is the excellent model of civil engineering. Its total built up area is 84,000 sq. feet. Its salient features are natural fresh air and sufficient sunlight. About seven thousand devotees can have food at a time. The latest machineries & equipments are installed in the kitchen hall. Many operations are done by the machines. The special temperature control devices are installed in the kitchen hall. This construction is done by IVRCL company. Baba Changed the Creditors' Mind One of Baba's devotees was deep in debt. The creditor became very impatient and sent him a warrant. But the devotee didn't have the money at that time, Nor did he have any other means of procuring that amount. Nonetheless he felt calm and was confident that he would obtain the money somehow. The creditor harassed him and would wait no longer. At that time many devotees of Baba had gathered in his home. They wanted to perform naam sapthah (continuous chanting of the name of a deity for seven days) at his home in front of Baba's portrait. The devotee gladly agreed to this and the naam

sapthah was started. The creditor seized the opportunity, thinking that he would confiscate the debtor's home at that time. He got a confiscation warrant' and went there. The naam jaap had started and the debtor seeing the creditor went up to him and said, It's all right, you may take anything that you desire from my home, then I will have enough room to carry on the festivities, and naam sapthah.' Free Healing Touch Camp In Ludhiana Shri Jagtap Baba was invited to Ludhiana for a free service camp of one touch healing. Sai devotee Sh. Ved Parkash and all devotees of Sai Parivaar of Ludhiana, P u n j a b organised the camp on 15th Feb 2009 at H.No.1975/1, Habib Road, opp. Dental College C.M.C. Ludhiana. Many devotees came there and Shri Sai Baba blessed them through Jagtap Baba and so many miracles were witnessed by the devotees. One devotee named Mrs. Chinky aged 40 years, after healing touch service, she received blessings instantly and shri Sai Baba gave her "DARSHAN" in right hand palm of Sh. Jagtap Baba as well as in his eyes. In her words 'Shri Sai Baba was in white colour cloth and I felt very good'. Many devoees came there from Patiala, Jalandhar, Khanna, Ahemedgarh, Sangrur, Chandigarh & Panchkula to avail free service by Shri Jagtap Baba. This camp was arranged in Ludhiana for the first time.
