Special points of interest: • Would everyone please fill out a new Getting To Know You Sheet, unless you have filled one out in the last couple months? They’re in the Relief Society Notebook. • Will you include your e-mail in the roster? It’s just for relief society. If you don’t want to you don’t have to, but we’d love it if you would. :]

Dearest Sisters, It's wonderful to be able to feel. Believe me, I know it doesn't feel like it sometimes. I have even protested against my feelings. I have felt like the child in Elder Quentin L. Cook's General Conference talk of October 2008, who said, "Hope ya know, we had a hard time." In searching for a message for this newsletter, the journal entry I was led to started with, "I am feeling grossly inadequate this morning." I had made some mistakes that needed correction. If you ever feel grossly inadequate or feel the weight of mistakes you have made, remember that you have a Savior! He will help you get through all of the feelings that you experience. Through the Holy Spirit, He will let you know when steps are needed to correct your mistakes. I was not able to get something I had failed to do out of my mind. I wrote a letter of apology, I felt some tears, and then finally that small sweet acknowledgement of the spirit when I had said enough. It's wonderful to be able to feel those things.

The troubling sense of something more needing to be done is important and vital to our spiritual health, like a feeling of pain is to our physical health. None of us is perfect, but the Lord is there for all of us and by following Him we can be the best we can be, taking into our lives the lessons learned from our mistakes, and having faith in His atonement that we can go forward, not looking back except to remember what we've learned. Remember Alma, speaking to his son Corianton, said, "only let your sins trouble you, with that trouble which shall bring you down unto repentance" (Alma 42: 29). It is an amazing thing, that at the times we feel most inadequate, we are able, if we go to the Lord, to feel incredible love and gain a deeper understanding of the gospel. I love you, sisters. Go to Him! Let Him help you! He loves you beyond imagining. Love, Sister Garrett

General Relief Society Meeting This will be a Dinner & a Broadcast. It’ll begin at 5:30C/6:30E on 26 September 09 in the Stake Center, Lanett Chapel, and the Auburn Ward Chapel. It will be a wonderful time to be with our sisters for a meal and have the opportunity to view the 2009 General RS Broadcast! Also, Sis. Lewis is asking everyone to send her photos of our sisters doing things with one another. This can be service projects or just hanging out. She’d like them by the 13th. Her email is: [email protected]

Getting to Know Our Ward Sisters Shannon Soto was born and raised in San Diego, California, where she met her husband. She attended the University of Utah and studied Architecture. This is where she picked up drawing. Shannon also loves to dance, sing, quilt, and learn new things. She is currently our Gospel Doctrine teacher. Though she won’t be for long, since she is moving to Fort Bragg. She’ll miss us all and she’d like to add, “I just want to say a huge thank you to the friends in the ward. Your friendship has been a wonderful part of our short time here!“

Jennifer Garrett just returned from serving a mission in Mongolia. While on her mission she had the opportunity to learn Mongolian and Mongolian Sign Language. Like Shannon, she also got a degree in architecture, though hers is from Georgia Tech. She enjoys dancing and spending time friends and family. It’s important to point out that she especially likes gummy, fruity candies [good choice]. In the past, Jennifer has been a supervisor and coordinator for visiting teaching, as well as a single’s ward communication director.

Dana Goodrich is from Arlington, Virginia. She’s not a fan of picky eaters or unmade beds. She enjoys cooking, reading, and the outdoors [includes camping, fishing and hiking]. She loves animals, and she currently has a Great Dane and two cats. Dana previously attended Utah State University. She plans on going to culinary school while she is in Germany. Dana and her husband will be leaving us late this fall. They currently serve as our Sunbeams teacher and love it.
