the hall trying to acquaint themselves into the LLR family. They seemed to have become muggus rote-learning all the Hall funda (though many are still confused of the number of blocks A1, A, B, C, and some even claim for a D block!!). None has been unknown to buzzer rounds, the

Orientation Program Fresher’s Events Our new team of HCM seem to have left no stone unturned in grooming up our new Lajpatians. Our captains have seen great potential in their young elated batch. The remarkable choreo and dramatics events, the sledging in volley and footy have given great lessons of team work and co-operation to our freshers. The intellectual events of Open Soft, Case Study, Ad Design, Hardware Exhibition, Elocution, Quizz and What’s the good word have also seen participation from the great talented junta. Though, each one of us grumbled for waking up early at 5:30 in the morning for the 2.2 k race and the athletics events, but the enthusiastic participation for the events was worth applauding. Interaction The fresher’s have been interacting with their seniors, since the day they came to

importance of newspapers and the dancing of jugnus. And Nagelia’s “Pitara of bandi-data”, and Vaibhav’s artistic sketches have won the hearts of our seniors. Super Special Dinner The evening of 3rd September will be unforgettable for all of us experienced “A TASTY DINNER”, altogether, on the fresher’s welcome party, after a long-long time. Stuffing our mouths with more than a dozen mouth watering ice-cream scoops, and rasgullas has been a

tremendous experience. Our Wardens, Prof. P. Banerji, Prof. A. Routray and Prof. B.B. Khatua graced the event with their benign presence. The fresher’s were quite excited for receiving Certificates of Outstanding Performance from the wardens. ......And freedom

Early morning on teacher’s day, our young Lajpatians ate the namak of LLR, and took the pledge, presided over by our SSM: “Jeeonga to LLR ke liye, Maroonga to LLR ke liye”, and with this, officially, became true Lajpatians, ready to selflessly serve their hall. The oath was followed by a GPL party organized by the freshers for HCM’s, Vadde, and Pissu while the prime targetsPrabhat and Manish Kashyap absconded from the site- probably for safety of their bums. Then, the treat at Cheddi’s, from Happa was really awesome- after all, it was the joy of independence.

several undersecretary posts. White Shirts, Black Trousers, and black shoes, briskly moving to and fro collecting all the funda for their post (with chocolates in their pockets) they have been busy preparing their Statement of Purpose. The elections are all done, results are all out, some won, some lost, and the best were chosen. All have but one common goal- to work selflessly for the hall, and bag this year’s GC for their Hall. Inter-hall 6.6 km race It was a D-day for our runners- Somnath, Vidit, Shreayans and Jai Prakash- all drunk in passion to relive the gold-winning legacy of our hall. Somnath, the leading runner went flashing past like valour’s minion, and finished fourth. He was followed by Shreyans and Jai Prakash. But fortune did not seem to favour our side, as Vidit fainted down, just a few metres before completing the race, and we had to return empty handed that day.

Undersecretary Elections

Open IIT Baddy

The Young Lajpatians, have now matured enough for holding post of responsibilities for the hall, by contesting elections for

Asit Godbole, has fanned all his opponents cold as he wins a silver medal in the openIIT badminton tournament. And Surudh wasn’t far behind for securing the fourth spot. These achievements are a presage to other halls for the inter-hall tournaments that the Sher-e-Punjabs will be tough to defeat once again. Open-IIT Debate and elocution Niraj delivered an outstanding speech in the open IIT debate, securing the third spot. He was also selected for the foundation day debate along with Akshat,

Varun, and Abhijit Manna, among the total sixteen selected. Akshat‘s exuberant speech in Elocution got him the fourth spot, and won him the best performance by a second year. Keep up the good work!!! Open-IIT English and Bengali Dramatics Hard work of Shaunak and Amit for English drams and Aritra and Mainack for Bengali drams, finally won laurels for them and their teams, as the crowd was brought to their feet for putting up exquisite shows at Kalidasa Auditorium. Mid-Sem fever And finally, the mid-sem have started to haunt all of us, hallucinating us in sleepless nights. While, the maggus are on with studies, the chhagis and satti’s have plans to study just the day before the exam. Well, better arouse the dormant maggu within you to get good score in these exams. Hope this nightmare passes soon and this hall is up again- all rocking and happening. Best of luck for the exams!
