Semi Finished House

Semi-finished House in Surabaya Summary The concept of this “Semi-finished House” has fulfilled what the client’s needs (multi-function house and cheap) yet, It also makes the house looks better and unique than other houses around it. The site is completely used as can be seen from the first and second floor plans, the spatial is so compacted but still have some void space to support the natural lighting and air flows. The exterior is decorated by industrial colors and naked materials, make it looks perfectly match with the concept in the first place. Review A.   

room The spatial is compactly composed that it makes every room has it’s own function. The placement of the voids supports the air circulation The use of hollow walls also supports the air circulation and the lighting

The compacted spatial makes the view feels narrow The inner rooms are oftenly used by closer relative or guests.

B. Façade  The walls were made to be half finished to cut the cost and shows the natural texture of the bricks and concrete.  The use of recycled objects on the roof and some parts of the walls has the same color, to create a good combination with the bricks wall itself.  The south’s façade of the building is for the industrial purposes such as office and shop.

C. Uniqueness  Has the uncommon concept such as the half-finished looks and the used of recycle objects but also good for industrial’s purposes.  The recycled materials cut the cost, make it way cheaper to build.  The use of the voids and parks on some of the parts of the house gives a good view, natural lighting and air circulations.
