What do you like about the culture of our country? The culture of Moldova is a combination of Romanian culture and Soviet culture. The traditional Latin origins of Romanian culture reach back to the 2nd century, the period of Roman colonization in Dacia. Moldova has a long history and fascinating culture which are a source of real pride for its people. During many centuries, the Moldavian people have been creating their rich and diverse material and spiritual culture, reflecting thoughts and hopes of people, their needs and mentality. I am proud to be a part of its population and culture. Most of all, I like Moldova’s cultural sphere of dance, because I had been learning traditional dances for 3 years. The dances are typically performed in a circle with the dancers holding hands or linking arms while dancing in a counter clockwise direction. For example, a very popular and easy to recognize type of dance is hora also known by tourists like circle dance. The hora is popular during wedding celebrations and festivals, and is an essential part of the social entertainment in rural areas. One of the most famous hora is the Hora Unirii (Hora of the Union), which became a Romanian patriotic song. Another sphere from Moldavian culture that I like is music. reflects the diversity of the nation as well as the soul of every Moldavian. Music tells us about the musical depth and temperament of the people, their tribute to the freedom of musical thought. Moldova is very poplar for its music. For example, a lot of people recognize our music from Moldova’s Eurovision number when a troupe of traditional singers and dancers sang “Boonika that beats the druma” that perfectly reflects our joy and pride. Moldova has also a very large culinary culture but I am not very into it, but you must try maybe for you is an art of taste. I am proud about my country and I will always take its memory in my heart all over the globe.
