Please make a copy of this document and save it with your name. Submit to Blackboard once you are finished! In your groups, you will each be given one of four Strategic Scenarios from WWII.You will only be responsible for the Scenario given to you by Mr. Gilbert. Use these guiding questions to organize your thoughts as you analyze your scenario. First, read their scenario carefully and write your own responses to questions 1, 2, and 3 under Part I. Part One: Scenario Assessment 1. What is the scenario’s primary issue or problem?

2. What would you do in this scenario? What decision would you make?

3. Why would you choose this course of action? Justify your decision.

Next, share your answers with your group. It is now up to you all to come to an agreement on which of the decisions presented in the scenario is the best choice. When you have reached an agreement, answer questions number 4 and 5. If you are working alone or from home, answer these questions independently. 4. What arguments did your group members make, and how easy/difficult was it for everyone to come to an agreement?

5. Explain the reasoning behind your group’s decision about the best course of action.

When you are finished, your group will be given an Outcome Strip detailing the decision that was made. After you have carefully read the outcome, respond to the questions in Part Two independently. When you have finished, share your responses with the group or a partner.

Part Two: Outcome Assessment 1. What was the actual decision in this scenario, and what was the impact of that decision?

2. What factors influenced the decision? Why do you think the person made the decision he did?

3. Do you think this person made the right choice given the circumstances and the information available at the time? Why or why not?

4. What alternative course(s) of action could the decision-maker have realistically pursued? What do you think the impact of that alternative course would have been?

5. What additional historical information about this scenario do you wish you had before evaluating the decision? Where could this information be found?

When your group has finished, be prepared to present your scenario to the class. Use the slide given to your group in our Live Class Presentation. Your presentation should explain: 1) Which decision your group would have chosen versus the decision that was actually made. 2) Which factors influenced the actual outcome. 3) Whether your group agrees with the actual decision that was made. 4) Do you believe there were other realistic alternatives to the ones presented in your scenario?

When you are finished, submit your assignment on Blackboard!
