During Last 37 yrs from August 1972 to April 2009 worked both in Industry as well as in academics. While in industry, did Masters as part timer and PhD on study leave during July 1984-July 1987, while employed with Metallurgical & Engineering Consultants (India) Ltd. 1987-1991 taught Masters students in Power systems, as part time faculty with Birla Institute Of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, India Since April 1995, in full time teaching, except, Feb 1999 to Oct 2000, when worked in industry on energy management problems. The experience includes Energy Studies and Engineering, Identification of Energy saving options, Energy Audit, payback calculations, Energy management. Industry experience includes engineering & commissioning of Thermal power plant station auxiliary electrics and protective relaying systems, station auxiliary distribution system, large process plant electric power Distribution systems, engineering of transmission and distribution substations, a Bulk material

handling & charging system for LD converter shop, A 2x30+1x14MW,a 3x67 Mw & a 3x210 MW power plant, a MBF gas based power plant, a number of industrial power distribution network, DSL system for OH cranes of continuous casting plant, a gas cleaning plant for an LD steel melting shop. This also includes conceptual planning of Transmission and in-plant large distribution systems, commissioning supervision. During stay with analytical methods & specialized studies Section of power system planning division at Ontario Hydro, Toronto, developed coherency identification routine, which is embedded in electric power research institute’s system reduction package. Studied the effectiveness of FACTS devices in ENEL system using ETMSP, MASS and PEALS packages. Developed Code for deriving equivalence from a number of links for system reduction.
