People within the Client Operations-AO workgroup are responsible for the day-to-day provision of long-term outsourcing services to one or several clients. Client Operations is where the majority of Services people reside and, typically, people in the workgroup are based permanently at a client location. Application Outsourcing (AO) incorporates skills which support the programming, management and maintenance services required to implement and support new installations or maintain and improve existing legacy systems for our clients. The primary focus of this role is to work as part of the Real-time Market Data (Open Systems) Operations service team providing support and escalation for end users, other IT support groups and third party vendors in the Real-time Market Data environment. This team acts as the primary interface for all service related requests and issues coming into the Market Data group. A key function is the management of the hotline ensuring that issues and requests are efficiently routed to the appropriate group for resolution. Responsibilities Include: - Act as the primary interface into the Market Data group for all issues and requests. - Provide technical support for all Market Data services within the environment. Note: A key attribute with respect to this aspect of the role is that the candidate must have sufficient knowledge of the core systems to enable him / her to add value to the Level 1 Help Desk and carry out sufficient analysis to either resolve the issue or pass it to the appropriate Level 3 group. - Develop strong relationships with other service personnel ensuring that issues are addressed in the most expedient and effective manner and that users are kept updated at all times. Adopt common support processes with other IT support groups. - Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously is an absolute pre-requisite for this role - Maintain the Operational Call Queue ensuring that all calls are dealt with in a professional and efficient manner in accordance with any Service Level Agreements in place. - Work within a team environment and develop and implement best practices and procedures that will ensure that a high quality service is delivered and maintained. - Establish and document clear processes which accurately reflect the roles / responsibilities of the group, escalation paths and primary functions. - Develop clear and accurate documentation to reflect up to date representation of the environment. This documentation should also capture any processes that are in place in order that other members of the group can effectively takeover tasks and provide consistency across the group.

- Effectively support the day to day operational Market Data environment including escalation internally as well as to external vendors - Work closely with other groups (e.g. Project Management) to ensure that tasks pertaining to larger projects are executed in a timely and effective manner. - Provide regular updates and reports detailing progress, status, issues etc. - Being accountable for all real-time market data operations issues, take ownership and be proactive. - Provide the technical point of contact for external vendors who provide services to the Market Data group Basic Qualifications - At least 3 years of experience in IT. - At least 1 year of experience with UNIX administration & UNIX tools - At least 2 years Market Data experience preferably within an Investment Banking environment. - At least 6 months of experience with Network and real-time messaging technologies. - At least 1 year of experience with at least 1 trading floor application: Reuters XDE, Bloomberg, Bridgestation, Reuters Dealing 3000, Reuters Plus, Thompson. - At least 1 year of engineering/development experience with scripting languages (PERL, Shell) - Some shift work required: coverage spans 6:30am–7:00pm daily with weekend on-call coverage - Ability to participate in an out of hours escalation rotation. - Ability to work occasional weekends and bank holidays as the workload demands. - Ability to work a 52 hour professional week when required. Preferred Qualifications - Undergraduate degree in Computer Science preferred. - Experience providing support services in a complex, high stress environment - Strong Market Data content knowledge to effectively respond, investigate and follow requests, issues from end-users (e.g., traders and dealing room client management). Examples of the content knowledge includes: o Understanding of market data categories, e.g., Equities, options, futures, mutual funds, fixed income, etc. o Understanding of market data concepts, e.g., Quotes, permissioning, level 1 quote and level 2 quote differences, basic structure of an order book, different types of markets, etc. o Understanding of trading, e.g. buy, sell, short, call, put, spread o Understanding of special conditions, e.g., trade halts, corporate actions, IPO, stock splits, etc. o Experience with market data content from various vendor providers, e.g., Reuters, Bloomberg, etc. Professional Skill Requirements - Ability to take ownership and manage multiple activities simultaneously. - Good communication skills - Attention to detail - Willingness/Eagerness to learn Our people are our most important asset and we invest considerable resources to provide on-going training that builds and extends professional, technical and management skills in all areas.
