The bat and ball games programme such as cricket can help to extend and refine these skills. Cricket is a sport that provides students with a range of skills and opportunities for practice, repetition and imitation so that their skills are enhanced and strengthened. Increasing students knowledge and experience in cricket skills will gradually extend their ability to tackle more complex skills as well as skills in other sports. Students will also find enjoyment and learn through cooperating in teams with their peers in competition scenarios. • Students will be given opportunities to run, chase, throw and catch so that they can become fast, alert and controlled in their fielding. • Students will be provided with cricket bats of different weight and height so they can develop the ability to swing and strike an oncoming ball • Students will have the opportunity to work individually, in partners and in groups based on warm ups, drills and games • Students will have to opportunity to develop an understanding for offensive and defensive strategies in both fielding and batting in the game of cricket • Students will have the opportunity to progress in their skills throughout the programme if they are excelling in areas the task has set out
