Radio Network Configuration The CGI parameter consists of four parts and shall be configured as below in order to define the PLMN operators radio networks within the shared BSS network:
MCC (Mobile Country Code) and MNC (Mobile Network Code) This parameter pair shall be unique for the different PLMN operators radio networks.
LAC (Location Area Code) It is set uniquely per PLMN operators radio network.
CI (Cell Identity) It is set uniquely per LAC and PLMN operators radio network.
In addition to the setting of the CGI value the feature Multiple PLMN Support may also affect the setting of the cell parameter Base Station Identity Code (BSIC). The BSIC parameter consists of two parts:
NCC (Network Colour Code) The NCC is mainly intended for the purpose of differentiating cells with the same frequency but located in different PLMNs.
BCC (Base Station Colour Code) The BCC is mainly intended for the purpose of differentiating cells with the same frequency within a PLMN.
